At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $6,162 representing a loss of 21% in the last 24 hours. More than $3.2B worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 38.4% share of daily volume, followed by the BTC/JPY pair that represents a 37% share.
The Ethereum price has dropped by 27.5% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $577, with over $1.65B worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 47.7% market share of the daily trading volume.

Lloyds Banking Group Blocks Bitcoin Purchases Using Credit Cards
After several US banks announced a ban on cryptocurrency credit card payments, Britain’s largest banking group is also banning its credit card customers from buying cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.
According to BBC, the ban applies to the Lloyds Banking Group's eight million credit card holders and started yesterday across its subsidiaries, including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, MBNA and Bank of Scotland.

Santander to Launch Ripple Retail Payments App in 4 Countries
Spanish banking giant Banco Santander is set to roll-out a personal payments app for retail customers powered by Ripple’s blockchain technology in Q1 2018.
The application will enable international payments in “3 clicks and 40 seconds” for retail bank customers, reveals a slide by Santander’s 2017 earnings presentation released last week.

Singapore Airlines: Blockchain Loyalty Wallet App for Frequent Flyers
Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s leading airline operators, announced its plan to launch a loyalty digital wallet based on blockchain technology for its KrisFlyer frequent-flyer program, enabling travellers to easily spend their air miles at retail partners. Singapore Airlines CEO, Goh Choon Phong, stated:
“This groundbreaking development in which we will be using blockchain technology to ‘digitalise’ KrisFlyer miles is a demonstration of the investment we are making to significantly enhance the digital side of our business for the benefit of our customers.”
