Virtual currencies are on the verge of a nervous breakdown to authorities and investors. What are they and how far can fashion go?
The world of technology, financial markets and trade today have a new focus: virtual currencies and, in particular, one of the most talked about, bitcoin. The issue is really a planetary concern; while some see it as a great innovation and economic revolution, others consider it a threat.
China, Japan, Russia, the United States and all of Europe are talking about it. At the beginning of 2017, the Chinese Central Bank announced investigations for those who trade with bitcoin, warning that it is not a legal tender. In the United States, the securities market authorities had to decide if they accepted the registration of Exchange Trade Funds (ETF) in virtual currency to be traded on the market.
