Bitcoin: Lightning transaction successfully tested | What is Lightning?

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

Alex Bosworth has successfully completed a bitcoin lightning transaction in a test network to recharge his prepaid phone, thus, the development of the lightning network takes a new step in the hope of solving the problems of bitcoin scaling.
Although the implementation of light in the "real" bitcoin public network is still far away. The Bosworth transaction was still largely based on the order of the command line, but it is understandable that the future of bitcoin can look like. According to bitinforms, a bitcoin transaction still costs an average of $ 32. The duration of the transaction is several hours. Lightning can solve both problems, not only will the transaction confirmation time be limited to a few seconds (near real time), but the cost of the transaction will also come down to zero. source https://coin-hero.de/bitcoin-lightning-transaktion-erfolgreich-getestet-was-ist-lightning/

Thanx for the infos .... I hope lightning comes early 2018. The Bitcoin transaction fees are too expensive and the transactions are too slow. I wait already 3 weeks for the confirmation ;(
