For those of you who don't know, BCC (Bitcoin Cash) is forking on August 1st. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to hold your private keys as during that time, if you hold any BTC, I believe you get the same amount of BCC.

I'm wondering, does anyone know of any wallets that will be compatible for the split, ie multibit.org, armory, exodus, .... (not hardware wallets as I don't use them)

I think it is too early to tell. I would say that seeing the block chain does not exist yet - they have not developed any wallets for the BTC cash yet.

I read that a bit coin cash pc wallet will be available after aug 1st, from what i read once its availabe you import your private keys from your btc wallet to the bcc wallet and the bcc will be available.

I am also wondering about exodus... some say no, others yes

I say yes

I've seen statements that Exodus will not support Bitcoin cash.

an example for reference: www.cryptoninjas.net/2017/07/27/exodus-not-supporting-bitcoin-cash-users-will-able

Exodus won't support, talked with the devs earlier, no go with them supporting BCC. Best to get the old Bitcoin Core wallet, lock up your bitcoins and export those keys safely

Another question is, does one simply export their private key from Bitcoin Core and import it into a Bitcoin Cash wallet? Is this the correct process of things?

But secondly, I've never exported my private keys before... if I do this, will my wallet no longer be there in bitcoin core?

I would have just thought you copy/paste the wallet.dat into a Bitcoin Cash wallet, but apparently it's not that simple?

Thanks for bringing up this topic, everyone really is on edge :)

I believe yes, the process will roughly be proving that you are the account holder of BTC addresses pre-fork and you will pick up where you left off so to speak on the BCC chain. Very simple stuff xD

and by that I mean

Edit: 'pick up where you left off', should you not just dump all your BCC which is what may end up happening
