Bitcoin is at a total of $11230. Why I'm not buying any expensive christmas gifts..

All arguing aside, whatever you think or mean about BTC, BCH, BTG etc, Bitcoin is going at it harder than ever. All the forks, FUD, scare mongering..nothing seems to bite on Bitcoin. It just seems eager to hit $10,000 before Christmas.

Right now these are the numbers:

Bitcoin Core (BTC) $9200
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)$1600
Bitcoin Gold (BTG) $360
Bitcoin Diamond $70 (futures)

Total; $11230

Actually, Bitcoin core is going up so fast right now, It changes by the hundreds of dollars as I write this, it is at $9300 on Gdax.

Personally I sodleded a tiny amount (profit taking about 5%) on $8200, which of course was stupid. I bought some ETH for it, which I believe is solid in the future. Considering I bought Bitcoin at around $1000 and not been taking any profit at all until now with almost 1000% gains is something I'm very happy with.

I hope everyone has the same good feeling I do entering December and Christmas time. I won't be buying a lot of expensive christmas gifts this year. I bought some second hand Lego for my son..I don't want to waste any money on consumption in this time in history. We are writing history guys, and we're in. I'm not going to waste a fucking cent on stuff right now. You'd be stupid if you start celebrating at this point. Every penny needs to be invested at this point. And second hand Lego is just as good as first hand Lego!

Good advice. I think I will give my brothers silver coins this years and some amount of BTC as well (They are 24). I am more more bullish on BTC than silver, but who knows. Cycles seems to start again at the start of a year (of the dog).

Fuck gifts just HODL :D

Open a new wallet for your son and buy some crypto for him. He'll be able to buy some real and not second-hand stuff later on.

One very good way to do this would be to buy the equivalent of 1 million Vests and start manually curating with it. With compound interest you would have 38 million Vests after 10 years or 114 times the Steem Power you invested.

I plan to actually make a steemit account for my twin nephews and deposit a small amount every week. Hopefully steemit with still be around until the day they know what to do with the money ( still 2 year old!)

Good plan. I literally forced my three daughters and wife to join steemit.

Well, he's only 3,5 years. So he doesnt know the difference between second hand and new. I'm trying to teach him good values - and we're pretty well off. I try to teach him how we can afford our Tesla, our boat etc. How we don't waste money. How we respect money, and how we should cheerish money. It is after all the product of our work, time and effort.

If he at some point starts feeling bad about getting some gifts second hand..sure, I'll respect that. It could mean that he feels bad getting used stuff while others are getting new stuff. (Believe me..he gets a lot of new stuff as well) but my hope is that he will continue not to care about those things - and just see the cool lego, and not that the package is a little bit torn or scratched or whatever. :)

That's the right way to go. Teach him right values. And imagine how much one btc in his wallet after 15 years will be worth. He'll be very grateful to smart daddy.

Thanks mate :)

I used to do the same things to my son. It worked well. He is 13 years-old now. He prefers to buy second hand stuffs, such as games. If he does not find the one he wants, he compares prices before he purchases.

Guys, Bitcoin at 9800$ awesome!!

Do yourself an expensive Christma's gift: 1 Bitcoin :D

There is still some time for Christmas, maybe the core might go upto 1100$ alone

$10,000 for core is going to be interesting. If it continues to rise above 11,12k it will go parabolic. The market wants to see BTC at 10k. Hopefully we want to see it at 100k as well.

Another big hike is coming within days

Critical be being.....bitcoin..

Great idea; great post!

I'm hoping to be actively trading crypto by Christmas. sigh

Hah, Sodleded is a brand new word for me. Took me two tries to get the meaning. Clever.

True that on your spending habits. I haven't spent this little on myself in a month in years because of the crypto stock up. Feels good to put the money towards a better future instead of stuff I can obviously do without for now. That way I'll be at peace that I did all I could, aside from selling my silver stack, cashing out 401k or taking out a loan... not going to happen.
