Market update Thursday 8th 2018: ECB is not going to prioritize cryptos.

European central bank has moderated it's stand on cryptos and is describing it as "not exactly very high on it's to-do list" in a brief interview with CNBC.

 

The ECB’s Chair of the Supervisory Board Daniele Nouy added that although she had “no clue” whether new regulatory moves on crypto would come from Europe in the future, involvement of ECB-regulated banks in the sphere was “very, very low”.

“We scrutinize the issue in a regulatory perspective, we are ready to do something if it was needed, but so far it's not exactly very high on our to-do list,”

Mario Draghi, President of the ECB(European Central Bank) has publicly stated that the ECB could hold positions in Bitcoin very soon.

Recent developments, such as the listing of Bitcoin futures contracts by US exchanges, could lead European banks too to hold positions in Bitcoin, and therefore we will certainly look at that.”

The only problem is that he also added;

In November, Draghi added that bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency sector’s impact was “pretty limited” and did not pose any risks for central banks as decentralized cryptocurrencies that fundamentally reject the control of money supply through a few institutions.

This is of course wrong. Cryptos pose a huge risk to them. But the later they realize this the better :)
I'm sick today with a cold, so no rants unfortunately. I forgot to drink my daily berry/cocoa/spirulina/bee droppings smoothie for a couple of days. First cold in a year and a half. I had hoped it would be a longer streak. And it's irritating to watch those great ski tracks just outside my window and not being able to go for a ride.
