Bitcoin holders - what to do before August1st and BIP148 (Segwit) adoption

in bitcoin •  7 years ago  (edited)

Attention all Bitcoin holders, store your Bitcoins on hard wallets such as Ledger Nano S or Trezor before August 1st.

Bitcoin holders are being encouraged not to make transactions on or immediately after August 1st to minimize loss of any bitcoins, the upgrade to BiP148 is said to reduce transaction costs and speed up transactions.

If you do keep your coins on any exchange, contact the exchange and ask them if they have moved to BiP148.

However, hold off any transactions on or immediately after August 1st until all systems have been upgraded to BiP148 to minimize risking your bitcoins.

Depending on how things go and the adoption of BIP148 there is potential that the price of Bitcoin will go up.

Do your research, get informed now and prepare accordingly.

At the moment I have all my bitcoins in my exodus wallet and i think that will be fine but as always....time will tell.
I also wonder how long it will take until it's safe to make transactions after August 1st .....

I guess it's important to stay informed. Exodus is great however most experts advise not to leave large amounts on exchanges... I only have a few hundred dollars worth of crypto coins so I don't have much to lose... but for big investors i think it would pay to up-your-security... you could check to see if Exodus are with the upgrade? yup will have to wait and see how long it takes.... hopefully ppl wont panic..
