Haven't you wondered? How did Karl Benz get the design of his car? Or Walt Disney, the idea of drawing on celluloid? How did Nikola Tesla think of a current that would travel alternatively (Remember his tower? About that!) and how did Alexander Graham Bell create his telephone?
The answer is simple. Imagination. With imagination, everything is possible. These inventors and scientists saw what they did first before going ahead and doing it. They were recreating what they dreamt of, saw in a vision, had a premonition about and manifested in the air. They literally went building castles in the air. They let their imagination run riot and take them to places no one has ever been before.
A Yoruba adage says, "Anyone who does what no one has done before will see what no one has seen before" This is a warning but flipping it, it is so true. Doing a new thing leads to news results.
Think J. K Rowling. She saw Harry Potter flying around on his broom at Hogwarts, long before she wrote her first word. Elon Musk saw his Asgardian floating in space long before they lunched.
