No, it's not new to people who have previously traded traditional markets. But as many people enter crypto have never traded anything before and are completely new, its a big revelation.
So I get why people are talking about it.
Many of my friends read my blog because they are starting out. Getting a feel for a market and an overall concept of the many factors when you're a noob is like trying to lasso a wale.

I didn't think people would be in trying to trade it without any previous trading exp.
To me that seems very scary. I would rather treat it as a movement. (gather crypto and exchange it for good /services)

I think that most people are diving into crypto without thinking. Crippling debt and the promise of moonshots in the 'age of austerity' have driven people like scurrying rats into a new asset class.
I may be one of them, but at least I ask questions. Like "where is the best cheese"?
