Bitcoin.org Warning: Potential Network Disruption on 31 July

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

If you read the news you probably know that bitcoin is pushing a new update which is going to solve(at least for a while) the 7 transactions per second limit and some problems related to how fast a transaction is propagated.

Of course the update contains more fixes, but those 2 are essential not only through the problems it solves, but also due to the fact the nodes has to migrate to the new fork. This will inevitably create a new chain, while the un-updated forks will keep working with the old chain.

This is why some transactions might not be processed or they will be processed in the old chain. So be careful and better to avoid making transfers around 31 July-1 Aug.

They said there may be some potential transaction delays and downtime and apparently there might be a split with maybe a Bitcoin Classic Coin and Bitcoin.
We'll see what will happen.
