Going down the rabbit hole to understand how the divide occurred in Bitcoin, I must say that I am very suspicious of Gregory Maxwell. His intentions seem driven by massive greed and ego. The fact that he is working for a Venture Capital-backed startup called Blockstream makes his actions seem rather dicey. He's also not the most grown-up person in the world. He, like a lot of uber nerds seem to be completely lacking in self-awareness and social skills.
And here it is people!
The parody Twitter Gregory Maxwell has just confirmed my worst suspicions in this latest tweet:
This is very bad, for it means that patents do exist for the slow takeover of Bitcoin, with Blockstream and SegWit at the helm. And the way that Maxwell calls Falkvinge "a douche" is a classic way that bullies, and psychopaths try to eviscerate their enemies, and try to use mind control tactics on regular people who are trying to weigh the facts (and people running parody twitter accounts). It confuses people and makes them question the validity of intelligent people like Falkvinge. I read that article that Maxwell is referring to. It's an insightful piece, and it doesn't attack anyone's credibility. It concerns ideas, not character assissination. Maxwell is not looking good in my eyes. I think he is up to no good, and is a reminder that just because you can code doesn't mean you should be directing a community.
There's a parody video of Greg Maxwell circulating too:
Read this NY Times article to get a full grasp of what happened in the beginning of the Bitcoin scaling war. It's nasty, and it's pretty obvious that human greed is showing its ugly face:
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/17/business/dealbook/the-bitcoin-believer-who-gave-up.html?_r=0
This Bitcoin war is really disturbing. It shows how frail humans are afterall.
I'm sad that there's a "Bitcoin war" :(
This is supposed to be all about financial liberation, but when it's about money… well, people fail.

greed has a way of destroying good things that were given to us for free.
Just look at nature.

Talking to Mike Hearn back in they days before he quit was one of the reasons I decided to get more into DASH, as a clusterfuck hedge. Did not expect that it would escalate that much in Camp Bitcoin.

I don't work there, just following it since 2014 and growing more and more convinced by it. But I realized I had not talked much about it in the past, because I did not want to discuss the "Instamine" again and again. I'll PM you on Dash Nation so you know who I am there.

ok sounds great. I researched the "instamine" and have concluded that it's not a big deal. All creators reserve for themselves. It's human nature.

Thanks for this. I read a book about the history of Bitcoin but this recent history is something I had not understand. will be good to read this.
