Awesomeness!!
So your friend wants to teach financial independence? Definitely something that is required in this word!!!
Looking froward to the Q&A's!!
Quick q - any specific reason you using BitPay as your wallet? If I'm not mistaken - you don't hold the private keys on BitPay (me and my paranoia...)

Only use Bitpay as a fiat gateway. As the classes progress, we will cover hardware wallets like Trezor. The BitPay is only used as a way to get Bitcoin converted to US dollars, as a subsititute for Coinbase, which I never want to use again.
These are baby steps! Most of the people will have never done a Bitcoin trx, ever in their lives!
I only use Bitpay when I want it converted to dollars. I don't store it in the wallet.
What debit fiat card would you recommend? I have used Bitpay and am happy with their service.

Just curious about never wanting to use Coinbase again? It seems people either love it or hate it, and I can say from first hand experience it's frustrating when they are down during peak volatility times...is that the reason? Besides that, it seems pretty solid to me (besides getting verified a HUUUGE pain in the you know what).

Ah!! I see, I guess that's good for transferring to and from fiat currency.
I use an exchange Luno here in South Africa for exchanging to and from fiat currency.
I personally have not used a debit card as yet but am "hoping" that Monaco eventually gets their card launched...
As far as wallets are concerned - I like bitWallet on my iPhone (got a lot of features for the more advanced user and also shows you your private keys). And then I use proper paper wallets (with BIP38 encrypted private keys) stored in multiple locations for any large amounts :)

And I see BitPay just added Coinbase integration - oops :(

About my friend, she is a visionary. And she, like me, works on many different things at once. Her real estate business is booming, and she's finally got enough income to expand her visions into other areas. She was a trainer also....and many other things...

Wow! Sounds awesome!! Great to see people out there that have such amazing minds and brilliant ideas!!!
I really do wish her the best :)

I like your thinking. Perhaps when I have been here a year I will consider doing something like this for my community. I do not have the strength of knowledge for a steem/btc/crypto school to teach anyone. I enjoy your posts, and will learn from your experiences. Thank you @stellabelle

@stellabelle ... very helpful material. Thank you
I follow and upvoted you. I'll be happy if you upvote some of my post's

Wow, this will be SO awesome! My wife and I live in KC (36th and Rainbow) and are super excited about this. Can't wait to come learn and interact with all the like-minded people!

Believe me, I am glad to find local people finally in Steemit! It's been about a year for me in here, and I'm ready now to form real physical groups.....the school idea will be great, like a new thing!

I agree. I've been involved in the crypto space (investing primarily) for about a year now, but am relatively new to Steemit! Really looking forward to learning more at the bitcoin school :)

Yes, awesome! I only found you just now! I look forward to meeting you!

Awesome! I'm in the KC area and will be there too! :)

This would be a great course for online learning!!!

Perhaps a future course could be presented to an online audience?

hello will you please upload video of those classes on your youtube channel? I would love to learn more about cryptocurrency from you.

there's a lot of demand for video, so it appears that i'll be doing that, or finding a volunteer

That is so nice of you and will be really helpful for so many of us! :)

Best of luck to you, my friend! If I didn't have gigs during these times, I would most definitely be there. Excited for you to bring the magic of financial independence education to Kansas City. This is so exciting. I hope your turnout is amazing.

I will try to make this! Depends on a few factors. Your altruism is inspiring.

altrusim mixed with self-preservation.

Sounds like a great opportunity to learn more about this exciting development in money/exchange systems. I plan to attend and have invited Todd, my son and Tate, my grandson to attend too. See you Saturday, ~ljl~

ok, great! Sounds good! Franny is turning the Emerald City into a training center, as you know, so it looks like our Emerald City is going to be morphed into something where we can all get together and learn stuff! I am so happy she's doing this cuz it was so sad when Emerald City died!

Good job I hope to continue with this fantastic work

I needed steemit school..., succes for u...

Wow! Such a smart idea to meld education and recruitment for a platform like Steemit to use the knowledge in and get their feet wet! Amazing idea! I am excited to read about the updates on your blog!

nice cause and perfect information for the kids (and adults!) to get themselves a little bit more empowered and connected. i wish you the best!

Exciting!!! Question: will the classes build on each other or will the 2nd one be a repeat of material?? If they will be a repeat, then I will for sure be at one of them. If they will build on each other then I will try to attend both!! I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn. I will be resteeming this and will also help spread the word on facebook, if you are cool with that. My Mom very much wants to attend, but will be out of town both of those dates. She told me I need to take good notes and then share the info with her. Looking forward to seeing you again! 😊

There is a Facebook event already by Franny Knight, so I will invite you. Second class will be different but for beginners.....so you will learn easily.

Wonderful! Thank you!

i just invited you

Love what you and Franny Knight are doing @stellabelle! I would have loved to join, but I live far away in India. Would it be possible to film your class and put it on Youtube? That way even those of us who cannot attend physically will get to learn from you. Do let me know. Thanks! And all the best to both of you! - @sandzat

each class will be put on Steemit, and the students will be asking me questions on here, so you will see their progress and maybe learn with them. If a volunteer wants to film, that would be great.

Awesome! I'll keep a close eye on your blog for updates then @stellabelle. Totally love what you are doing! <3

basically, everyone can do this kind of thing in their own community.

nice concept, promoting steemit and teaching crypto currency.you are really doing great for steemit community.

Stellabelle, I liked the pigeon and your pigeon like hair. What was the pigeon saying to you during this photoshoot? :)

By the way, nice initiative for the local community. The success is all about giving back the community what you have earned.

Do you have a YouTube channel where you post videos about steemit?

Keep posting. Resteemed, upvoted, followed and ..................commented!

pigeon is a tribute to Nikola Tesla

Hahaha. I read somewhere that he liked the penguins more.

nope, it was pigeons.

Awesome! I wish i was in America, nevertheless you're real inspiration.

Incredible, you are very focused with your goals, good luck always..

Very unfortunate, I do not live in kansas to meet and get knowledge from you :)

Good post, Upvote.

Bravo, stellabelle! Let me add my voice to those requesting something online. Perhaps a Facebook Live which can later be downloaded as an MP4 and then posted to YouTube for extra coverage. Whatcha' think?

Please let us know if this might be acceptable to you.

i'm skipping Facebook for this I think, but I'll revisit the idea maybe later...

No problem. Thank you for what you're doing!

Many people don't live in Kanas City like me. So I and many others would appreciate an upload of the class on a plattform like YouTube :D

Very interesting i have to see what new do you have in hands :)

Hmm... maybe you could call it bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? Guess that is a bit long though! Yeah, on second thought perhaps Bitcoin school is the catchiest name. Sounds exciting, best of luck :)

Oh one more thing - have you considered holding this on udemy to reach a wider audience? You can double check, right now there are a few bitcoin/crypto trading classes there ( I took one of them) but I'm not sure if there's anything regarding general crypto education like you're offering. Maybe worth checking out!

The idea of blending offline classes with online Steemit experience is great and could open a lot of new possibilities.

"All classes will be free."

@stellabelle, you have a heart of gold. I'm glad to meet someone like you here. I'm not in Kansas, but I'll look forward to see the video tutorials.

I've seen your messages on steemit chat. I left you a reply there. Thanks.

great job Stella ... if I lived closer I would go to share fellowship with like minds.

That's an amazing initiative and opportunity @stellabelle,too bad for us living in Europe :( Hopefully there'll be an online summary of those classes? I keep learning whichever way I can, nothing is never enough ;)

Crypto is still unknown for most people. God idea with a course to reach people.
Upvoted and resteemed.

That sounds like some real synergy. The folks in Kansas City are fortunate to have you and your friend working together to bring cryptocurrency and Steemit to KC. Here's to a great turnout!

Are you still into DASH, haven't seen you dashing lately. :)

Dash will be a part of my Bitcoin School, mainly because we'll be transacting on Dash blockchain, due to Bitcoin split......
I'm doing more than 4 projects at once, developing more, starting a school, and so this is what's happening....

I think this training will be good for many who will be able to hear your speech. I hope someday and I can come to you)

This is really awesome.
One day, an opportunity like this will have expression here in Africa. Africa awaits this kind of innovation and initiative. We're just waiting for someone to chart this course here.. "We all have this dream"

Excellent post, Wish I lived thier.

Cool... I'm far away with you, so I can follow it ;)

Too bad that I don't live anywhere near there as I'd love to go to the class to learn as well as meet you haha
I think this is a really good project that you are running as Steemit is introducing a lot of people to cryptocurrencies and these classes will be highly beneficial for them as they learn the ropes.
I wish you the best of luck with your classes @stellabelle

Wonderful project.
I wish you many good achievements and learnings.

This sounds huge. Is there any possibility you guys can broadcast it on some online channel or something? For us sitting oceans away?

yeah, it looks like there will be videos. I've already started the first one:

Sounds good.

Well research article, thanks for posting and keep up the good work
