If you have ever used Coinbase you'll know that it goes hand in hand with high fees and long wait times to get your hands on crypto or sell it for USD. But good news has arrived if you want to fill or empty your bags of bitcoin or ethereum!
On Thursday, the zero-commission stock trading platform Robinhood let the world know that U.S.-based users will be able to buy and sell bitcoin and ethereum — the two largest cryptocurrencies right now — without any transaction fees starting next month.
This is a game changer! There is no doubt in my mind that this news will generate a lot of excitement and positivity in cryptocurrency investors and traders.
There's no doubt in my mind that we will see this next futures contract result in sky-rocketing BTC and ETH prices. Something very welcomed by cryptocurrency believers across the world.
As an added bonus, Robinhood will not impose any maximum or minimum limits for cryptocurrency trading, nor will there be any withdrawal limits.
Also, as of today, users can now track the prices and breaking news of some of the biggest cryptocurrencies on the market on their mobile devices.
Of course the party isn't going online everywhere all at once. Initially this crypto trading feature will only be launched in the states of California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, and New Hampshire. It is important to note that the company does plan to add remaining states soon afterwards.
“Now in Robinhood, for the first time, consumers will be able to invest in and trade stocks, ETFs, options, and cryptocurrencies all in one place. You don’t need to have different apps or be checking stocks on Robinhood and then logging into some exchange in Asia to trade your cryptocurrencies. It’s all consolidated,” said Baiju Bhatt, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Robinhood, alongside Vlad Tenev.
After a bit of digging I was able to learn that Robinhood’s consumer base has grown to more than three million users with a transaction volume of about $100 billion in the short time it has been around. In comparison, Coinbase only has 13 million customers globally.
What this means is that open sesason is about to begin on cryptocurrencies! I hope you guys all have front row seats!
What are your thoughts about this news? Do you think this new development with the Robinhood platform will send prices skyrocketing? Why or why not?

I agree. We will see but this could be a spark to a bit of crypto momentum that may fuel some nice gains in Feb. 2018!

I'm really hoping Cobinhood is a Coinbase killer!
Time to end the abuse of high fees. Coinbase really abused its power in my opinion and their fees are ridiculous when comparing to other exchanges.
Hoping to see a market shift to other exchanges like Cobinhood or Kucoin.
I wish you all the best.
Feel free to check out my blog @maxdigi, this way we can support each other!

I’m pretty happy about this. I have had a robin hood account for a few months but never used it. A friend of mine swapped referrals and I did a robin hood under him. Maybe I will finally get some use out of that account.

Interesting options! The one that really stands out to me is Qtum. Feel its undervalued based on this graphic and my understanding of where it is at the moment in terms of potential and current market cap. Thanks for this!

Kidding...
You asked our opinion if this will. help the rise of crypro?
Yes RH will help,
.. and when they fully expand into all the most populated States, yes there will be a rise, and rise in Steem and other Crypto.
(Also factor in Steemits easy sign up proposal)
Then go bear, then level off.. . but right around..march 18th, give or take a week...the Bull will begin to gourd the limping... Fiat Matador...but in late july or early aug.... but I say by the end of the year.....those that have 1000 Steem or more, will be on their knees delirious with overwhelm, that the price couldn't be this good...some wont make it because they aren't financially challenged anymore and things are so good that the miserable wont be able to deal with all the goodness..:(
...yet those that held back in the spring... and made it to this point, and can see past market prices...then.....something Beauti......
Oops its past my bed time!
Oh...look how much Ive written...you inspired me with your wonderful article...

Goodnite.
Oh...

Robinhood is taking away money from the big brokerages and giving it back to the users. I love companies that run off this profit margins and charge little to no fee's because they can then still grow using mass adoption. I hope robinhood incorporates a few more stocks and mutual fund options tho before I would switch everything over. Also they need Roth ira's
