It should be mentioned that active addresses does not map directly to active users. Anyone with a HD wallet type would be using nearly as many addresses as they do transactions. They likely correlate, but we'll never know how strong that correlation actually is.

While true, this is same on both sides so should be somewhat relative but really who knows.

It's true on both sides, but we don't know to what degree. For example what proportion of users use HD wallets on Bitcoin vs. Ethereum? It's not measurable, although it could be estimated by someone who knows both spaces well.

I hear ya, it is kind of arbitrary, that's why I mentioned it's questionable if it really means anything. It is interesting though but could be absolutely meaningless.

Proof of stake is around the corner as well. I can see more people hopping on any crypto that are POS for passive earnings.

I am curious what that means, will ETH skyrocket or fizzle? Hard to really be sure.

Bitcoin will always be the original, but eth has vitalik, smart contracts, crypto kitties, and pos. Has a lot of room to run from a btc standpoint from the highs this summer.
Not sure if anything will rocket pass btc.

Whew! Ethereum Pokemon!
Got to catch them all... and make them mate like bunnies to sell the offspring.

Great post!
I think that if ETH will break above $750.00 it will shoot up sooner than later. Iām not so sure about BTC, it looks very week.

I still want a kitty.
You said that the kitty craze harmed Ethereum, but it helped birth new kitties, and isn't that more important?
I do wonder how many more transactions and value increase Ethereum owes to the kitty craze. I'd love to see actual figures on cost versus reward from the thing, to be honest.

I think the kitty craze is dying, the price on them has dropped significantly. I think it used to be 7 ETH for a Gen0, now you can get them below 1 ETH and I think there are some for less.

It's already in progress. There is one that will be using a fork of Steem to reward people watching porn.

I think Ethereum has the potential this year to blow up like BTC in 2017. It really is a fantastic platform imo and will prove itself in 2018, separating from the pack along with LTC and maybe XRB.

I do too, I recently bought a lot of ETH before it just pumped. I think it will be 5K+ by end of the year.
