Cases like this are becoming more and more common. Crypto has also been valuable in providing relief to Venezuela during the current crisis. I know there has been something of a campaign by the Nano crowd in this regard. Even under ideal circumstances crypto is almost always cheaper than traditional methods of sending funds. The price volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be problematic, but this will resolve itself as the market matures and adoption becomes more widespread.
It is also cool to hear stories of adoption by older generations. I have always held that Bitcoin has truly arrived when my grandparents start asking about how it works. One generation to go! Thanks for a great post!
