I am not an expert but i can say i am watching boxing and contact sport since i was a good and i am a decent ''knower''. I also like betting on this huge events.
Despite what everyone wants(i also want McGregor to win) it is obviously one possible winner in this event and i will explain why:
-First of all Mayweather is the best defensive boxer af all time , never lost and never even got counted once in his career.
-Mcgregor is an AMATEUR boxer, let me say that again...an AMATEUR boxer taking on the 49-0 (26 KO) and more record then i can even count: 12 world titles. If the setting would be different and it would be in a cage we can all agree that there will be only one winner everytime...and that is Conor.
-Mayweather can move ahead Rocky Marciano who end up his career also with 49-0 ....we will make 50-0.
The only ''advantage'' Conor has is that he is younger 28 , mayweather being 40 and not boxing for 2 years.
If Mayeather wins he will win some money(wich he was plenty , despite what people say) , but if he loses he is losing his lecacy...so basically he doesnt win that much (he made 300 millions with Pacquaio so this revenue doesent really matter in the big scheme) but if he loses he will lose everything he build in his career including the Legend status of passing Marciano.
My take on the match, Mayweather will play with him while playing defensively perfect so Conor will not have a chance. Lets not remind here that the fitness level is different than in octagon, the breathing patterns , the energy storing strategy. Also Mcgregor never had a 36 minutes scheduled fight in his career.
-3 big betting houses are in risk of bankruptcy if The irish wins, and despite of that they are still accepting bets made on him.
Talking aside if you bet on Mayweather you will get a 20% win on your bet and i think this is a huge opportunity to increase your bitcoin stash.
What is your oppinion guys, do you think that i will make a good bet with this?
PS: you get 60% if you bet on Mayweather winning before 12 rounds!
I was going to make a post on this as we get closer to the fight. There was a really good article about this on Deadspin. The gist of the article is this quote "Make no mistake: If this fight is entirely on the level, Mayweather wins it any way he wants, any time he wants." Notice that the writer is alluding to the fact that this fight may be fixed and with the odds starting at 225-to-1, Mayweather may have wagered against himself. I know records are important but a $5 million bet (spare change for Mayweather) would return $1 BILLION (not spare change, even for Mayweather). I realize I'm being ridiculous. Anyone walking to the Vegas sportsbooks putting $5 million on McGregor would get some publicity, even if that person happens to be Irish (that happens to be connected to Mayweather). This is the ONLY scenario McGregor would win: Mayweather LETS HIM WIN. You were being nice to call McGregor an AMATEUR boxer. The writer of the article doesn't believe he even has any talent for boxing. You're taking a guy with no talent in boxing to fight one of the best, if not the best, boxer in the world. Mayweather has beaten WORLD CLASS boxers like DeLaHoya and Pacquiao. Now he's up against someone who ... just took up boxing. I'm not saying McGregor is not a good fighter - he is - in his own ring, and could take out Mayweather in 5 seconds in the Octagon, but he's playing under boxing rules here. With the exception of the fight being FIXED, I do not see any circumstances in which McGregor would win this fight. To avoid embarassment, he should just go after Mayweather as soon as the opening bell rings with a HIGH KICK TO THE HEAD, forgetting where he is, and gets disqualified right away.
But seriously ... this fight is fixed. Mayweather knows if he easily dodges McGregor's punches and knock him out in the first 2 rounds, the public will get a bad taste of this mega-fight. In my opinion, as you suggested, Mayweather will let McGregor hang in there and even make it look good until he thinks the viewers have gotten their money's worth. The question is: what round is that? Looking at odds from one sportsbook:
Over 5.5 rounds: -295
Over 6.5 rounds: -210
Over 7.5 rounds: -145
I'm leaning towards over 6.5 rounds @ -210 (47% ROI). That means if I'm wrong and Mayweather decides to end this fight before the timer hits 1:31 in round 6, I would lose my wager. Maybe I should just wager over 5.5 rounds at -295 (34% ROI). Or I could do both.
Or the fight could end in such a way to force a rematch? That would benefit both fighters. No contest? Disqualification? No matter what's going to happen, and regardless of the possibility that this fight may be fixed, everyone still wants to watch it.
Another point I want to agree with: The House Never Loses. If the majority of the bets are on McGregor to win, then the outcome would be "any other result" which means it could be fixed to end up with a draw (35-to-1 odds by the way). Whatever the outcome, it will not bankrupt the betting houses.
I'm an avid tennis bettor and boxing/MMA is not my forte, but I am good at sports investing (notice I did not say "gambling") and I'm confident of my pick.

I think that Mayweather might actually win this one but Conor is a true animal. Being part Irish I am a little biased though :P

With more reports coming out that the Mcgregor camp is turning to a shit show as far as training goes I think Conor has no choice to kick mayweather in head and lose on his own terms, because much of what you said in this post rings true. Conor lacks so much experience to fight the best defensive boxer of all time and as bad as I wish Conor could pull a rabbit out a hat in this fight, it most likely isn't happening.
The only thing I'm worried about now is how i can make some money off this circus cause there no doubt there is money to be made and i really just aiming to make like 3000 bucks, I never placed bet on a sports even so I'm looking for advice and some knowledge on how to understand spreads, if anyone could help thanks.
