Hi, I am writing this a short article for the benefit of the non-tech people who want to know in simple English how to protect their Bitcoin come August 1st. I hope the following questions will generate some simple answers from the Bitcoin community .
Questions.
Does the fork affect my coins if they were bought before August 1st and kept in an off line wallet such as the Trezor?
Will I be able to use these coins, from the off line wallet , to trade in the BIP-148 after August?
If I am a long term holder, keep my Bitcoin in off line wallet like the Ledger wallet, and don't intend to sell any Bitcoin for at least a few more years. Is there anything I need to do?
When I want to buy Bitcoin after August 1st. What should I be careful about?
How do I get control of my own keys for your wallet?
How do you validate your Bitcoin? (Consensus rules of the net work)
I hope this creates some basic answers I can share.
Please remember to make the comments in simple English.
Cheers!
