So I made a post last year about bitcoin making it to 8k at the end of the year and steem hitting, I think, 5 dollars. You all thought I was crazy :p. So let's do an official one for 2018 and make predictions for what the coins will be worth by the end of the year. This is not investing advice so please don't invest on it just a fun game to make some random guesses. Please but yours in the comments.
Alright here are my three predictions....
drum roll
Bitcoin - $72,415
Steem - $205
Eth - $14,501
Yes there is a good chance the markets crash but I don't think this will be the year for that. I think this is the year for mainstream adoption and that is going to driven by gamers and apps. We have not entered that phase were everyone is making them yet.
What do you think?
Well if Steem goes that high I will be amazed but who knows...for Eth and BTC it is quite possible to reach those targets although I think Cardano and EOS will rival Ethereum in becoming the best Dapp platform.

I think the Dapp platform is the future after 2018 and will be the one(s) that survive. I think SMTs can really push steem.

Probably not every year will be as good as 2017 ... will we really get there?

I feel a $205 Steem coin is a very reasonable @whatageek , comparing the market cap and circulating supply to Ethereum a $400-$500 Steem coin seems possible if we don't see a crash this year.

I have to disagree with ALL of your prediction.
Taking BTC as an example, if by the end of 2018 its price were to be $72,415, its market cap would be $1.216 trillion... not very probable as the current market cap for ALL of the cryptocurrencies is less than $750 billion.

We went from 100 B to 750 B in a year, that would not be as big an increase for coins to top 2-3 trillion. But we will see :). Plus a lot of these numbers in the market cap are not real. New coins get added with 100,000,000 market cap but the liquid is not there.

Just want to see what everyone thinks about the coin called Bytecent (BYC). Very low market cap of 5.2 million as of today and trades on Bittrex. I think when Bittrex opens to new customers this coin will go up pretty significantly.

Thanks for sharing, @whatageek! I guess, everything depends on how many people will get involved in the cryptomarket this year. The money, that is already in the market migrates between BTC, ETH, Altcoins. Here is my idea of the correlation between BTCUSD and ETHBTC. Everything will grow only if there will be tons of fresh money this year.

I think this will be the last year of fresh money but it will be a push.

Are SMT's your main reasoning for Steem mooning so much? Or what other factors are you including? I hope you are right, of course lol
