Trolls on Twitter getting on the Bitcoin train

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

As Bitcoin's bullish race continues, social networks abound in commentary, news and memes.

Like the brave investors looking to get in on the action, some Twitter users are using the #Bitcoin hashtag to boost their tracking and interaction.

While looking for prominent influential advice and opinions on the upcoming release of future Bitcoin from CBOE this weekend, a lot of Twitter users shared similar posts promising Bitcoin for retweets and follows.

I️ Am Not Telling Anyone How Much Bitcoin I️ Have Or When I️ Got I️t..... But Since Everyone Else Is Doing I️t , So Will I️. I️ Will Pick 3 People Who Retweet This And Send Them A Bitcoin On Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas #bitcoin

Dylan Palacio: I'm not telling anyone how much Bitcoin I have or when I got it ..... But since everyone is doing it, I will too. I will select 3 people to retweet this and send them a Bitcoin on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas #bitcoin

This smart user noticed the trend and promised to give absolutely nothing.

BeerPicks: In 2012, I did not pick up any bitcoin. I was drinking mostly beer at that time and I did not even realize what I was not buying. Because of this, I have decided to give 10 lucky people that RT this absolutely nothing

Another user offered some wise advice:

RooiRobot: Guys, nobody who has bought Bitcoins for little money is going to give it away now. Stop tweeting this trash again, have more respect for yourself

Surfing the wave

What shows this fun and somewhat annoying trend is that many people are trying to get everything they can from the current state of Bitcoin.

This applies to social networks and real Bitcoin markets, as people clamor for getting on the fugitive train. The next two weeks will be especially revealing for the cryptocurrency space, since futures are introduced to the market for the first time.

Expect Twitter trolls to follow troll-lol-ing for the foreseeable future.
