How can Bitcoin be used as a currency if it can't even be used at its own conference?

"People hoping to attend an upcoming conference dedicated to cryptocurrencies have been told they must pay for their tickets in regular old dollars because using crypto is too slow and expensive."

After getting into cryptocurrencies I have found out the hard way that buying and trading Bitcoin is very expensive for the little guy and so fucking slow. I have made more money off of other cryptos than I will ever make off of Bitcoin and more and more exchanges are making it easier to trade crypto for dollars or dollars for crypto - unless Bitcoin gets its act together it will be over run by other cryptos.

And with countries like Russia getting more and more involved in creating its own crypto ( see my other story - https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@worldwar2hero/russia-to-legalize-cryptocurrencies-good-or-bad) who knows where this new currency will go
