Elon Reeve Musk is a multi-faceted character. A billionaire, a visionary, the owner of companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, and in general one of the most inspiring and intriguing figures in the high-tech business. His life is accompanied by endless rumors and false news: from leaving Tesla for joining the bitcoin startup, to accusing him of being a disgrace to the nation.
Given the rapid growth of the popularity of the crypto-currency industry, it is not surprising that the inconclusive hunt for Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, led to speculations that Ilon Musk hides a big secret from us all. Sahil Gupta (Sahil Gupta), a computer science student at Yale University and a former trainee in SpaceX, thinks so.

Elon Mask is the creator of Bitcoin?

Gupta, who practiced at SpaceX in 2015, presented several "strange" ideas as to why Musk could be the founder of Bitcoin:
Technical capabilities: The bitcoin was written by someone who is fluent in C ++, the language that Musk used extensively in SpaceX. The 2013 document, written by Musk on the revolutionary transport system Hyperloop, also demonstrates his deep understanding of cryptography and economics.
A passion for solving global problems: Bitcoin was founded in 2009, during the global financial crisis and widespread disregard for banking as a whole. If there was a good time to create a currency for people, not for banks - it was exactly that moment.
Relative silence: Musk spoke about Bitcoin only a few times. He openly stated that he personally does not own bitcoin and even published a mocking comment on Twitter when he was asked about crypto-currencies.
The mask does not need money: Satoshi's funds from unutilized bitcoins were estimated at $ 700 million in June 2016, when the price of one bitcoin was $ 719. At today's prices, Satoshi's bitcoins cost more than $ 9.5 billion - about half of the current state of the Mask at $ 19.7 billion.

Other arguments

A week before the publication of Gupta's record on Medium, another record was published on the site with the theory that Musk invented bitcoin for use on Mars in the future. However strange it might sound, the arguments about Paypal in this article matter. Musk has already revolutionized e-money with his pivotal role in Paypal, which he sold to eBay in 2002. The author of the record states that Musk thus undertook not to compete in the traditional finance market, devoting himself to the creation of Bitcoin.

Arguments against

The theory that the Musk is Satoshi may have certain grounds, but there are inconsistencies in it.
2008 was the "worst year" Musk: 2008 was an important year for Musk, who publicly announced that it was his worst year because of early problems with SpaceX and Tesla and his personal finances. However, it could be argued that the work on Bitcoin was a problem with which even Musk could not cope.
Musk is always in the spotlight: when in 2016 Reddit raised the issue that the Musk is Satoshi, users actively started the discussion. The popular opinion is that Musk would never be able to keep his role a secret and would have already interfered with the struggle with banks and regulators trying to destroy the crypto currency.
Public statements The mask can be regarded as negative: when asked about Bitcoin in this interview, Musk responded very cautiously. He said that "maybe bitcoin is a good thing," but referred to its primary use as an intermediary in illegal transactions.
Of course, the arguments for and against this theory can be an inexhaustible source of discussion. In the end, several dozen candidates (including several impostors) were already nominated for the role of Satoshi, but none of them was confirmed.
Whether Musk created bitcoin is unknown, but theoretically it is possible. As Gupta says, even if the Musk is not Satoshi, it's still "thank you for Tesla Roadster".
