Chinese conglomerate Jack Ma is confused with Bitcoin. He claimed not interested in studying this digital currency.
Whereas as is known, his company spilled resources that are not small for the development of digital currency blockchain, a kind of bookkeeping that records all transactions that have occurred in bitcoin network.
The founder and boss of Alibaba said he was repeatedly asked about Bitcoin at various World Conference conferences held last week in Wuzhen, China.
"Honestly, I only know a little about that and I'm confused," said Jack.
He cautioned that if Bitcoin proved to be more than a surge in economic radar, it would fully enhance the international order.
"Even if it works, the whole international rules of trade and finance will change completely, we spend a lot of effort in technology and the development of blockchain," he said.
Ma stressed that Alibaba's efforts in blockchain technology will be limited to applications operating within current economic orders.
Alibaba itself has launched a blockchain initiative designed to improve health and combat the sale of counterfeit food.
"I do not think we're ready for that yet," said Jack, answering the question of whether Alibaba will make the jump in the realm of digital currency.
"We will focus on AliPay and other technologies that focus on development or RMB, USD, EUR and other countries issued currencies." Bitcoin is not for me, "he concluded.
