Part 1 – “Money is the root of all evil.”
I am a regular listener of CBC Ideas and the episodes of post-Industrial human society endlessly fascinate me with albeit "dark" OcciDentaL notions of reality, but listening to those far-away sounds in bustling Bangalore and a populous India which has the youngest humans in the world, one of who is my hyper-active 4-year YOUNG daughter, makes me wary of the general pessimism of the western world.
Okay guys, you built all this hardware and now we have Android and Lovense. But WAIT A MINUTE! The fundamental tool of human civilization on the basis of which we conduct our activities is something called the calendar. The calendar, again is based on “calends” - which is primarily an economic function.. so ??
Some old wise-cracks in Rome declared that so-and-so shall be the 0 year and so-and-so shall be THE one whose birth must decide which side of the world we live in.
What was the rationale of their thinking?
On what scientific basis was it agreed that October shall be the 10th month when Octa means EIGHT (8) ?!!!
If we dig these facts, we inevitably find that many things that we experience as "reality" is being dictated by the beliefs originating from the Middle Eastern - Egypt - Israel nexus, the region that seems to be trapped in conflict with itself.
It is ironic that a large swathe of the Indian population subscribe to a belief system that is simply NOT theirs to begin with! The world was very different when Bharat/India became a political entity and when we dig deeper, there seems to be a force that was not aware of how technology would turn the tables and everything would be revealed (a phenomenon better known as the apocalypse..)
BBC, Voice of America, All India Radio, The Illustrated Weekly of India, Statesman were the opinion makers and what was aired/published by these media became the gospel truth.
The fundamental questions that still determines many things in the "real" world remains the same but trapped under the weight of information overload, few understand or ask those questions.
Having invested in a little crypto-currency and seeing the explosion of Bitcoin, I naturally asked how is money made and what is currency and why people with an average mind are completely blind to the difference.
When we have agreed to silently obey the obvious flaws of the gregorian calendar - a tool that we use on an everyday basis, it is not difficult to see why.
