Bitcoin Gold has issued a press release announcing the possibility of mining the BTG from Sunday, November 12 at 20h in France. Tests on testnet seem to have gone well and the next step is to run it on the mainet. Despite criticism, the team seems completely satisfied with the progress of the hard fork.

Hello miners and steemians!

We are excited to announce a community release date: November 12, 2017 - 7:00 pm (7:00 pm UTC)

At this point, we will allow the complete download of Bitcoin Gold Client on our website. The BTG channel will be officially online, and the blocks will be shabby by users and pools around the world.

Portfolios and exchanges will be able to process deposits, withdrawals and transactions once they are ready. This is the culmination of several months of hard work, which resulted in many changes and improvements:

• The proof of work algorithm will be in Equihash;
• Implementation of full protection against replay attack (BIP143 SIGHASH);
• Implementation of a standardized address format with "G" and "A" in prefix (to avoid accidental transactions to incorrect addresses);
• Refinement of the block difficulty adjustment algorithm (to better respond to dynamic variations in hash power);
• Minor changes, bug fixes and improvements;
• Mining successfully tested on a public testnet;
• Integration of the network and pools.

We are extremely grateful to the community that helped provide computing power in our trials; In addition to patiently testing their own mining system, they enable exchanges, pools, wallet developers and all other service providers to implement and test their BTG support so that the Bitcoin Gold a complete suite of services during the launch.
