In the world bitcoin, you aren’t supposed to trust anyone with your money. You trust only the math and cryptography in the protocol (the rules in the software) that runs the peer to peer network. You aren’t supposed to trust a company (especially one with a marketing team) or an individual to be your intermediary to bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin was created to remove the need to trust third party when dealing in money. Third parties like banks make transactions expensive because they need to cover their running costs and make huge profits. Trusting third parties to be the intermediary between you and bitcoin also exposes you exploitation and scams.
As a matter of fact, when you rely on a third party to connect you to bitcoin, you are bringing old habits to a new financial system.
Bitcoin is peer to peer network, which anyone can join and leave at will without going through a third party. All you need to do to join is to download the open source software (not owned by anyone), which will connect your computer to others in the bitcoin network. With that you can receive, hold and send bitcoins. In fact, you can also participate in mining if your computer is powerful enough to validate transactions and compete for the rewards.
You don’t need any company holding free training at the end of which they will ask you to trust them with your investment. In the crypto space, TRUST is cursed. Don’t trust people. Be your own bank. Do everything by yourself. That is the spirit of bitcoin.
