1.  Japanese retail giant Rakuten now lets its customers convert its Rakuten Group loyalty points to Bitcoin (BTC). According to an announcement, this capability is immediately available for Rakuten users in Japan who have an account with Rakuten Wallet, a crypto exchange subsidiary of Rakuten. The company says its clients can convert their loyalty points to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ether. By launching this new service, Rakuten Wallet apparently aims to boost cryptocurrency adoption while promoting its loyalty program.

2.  The research arm of the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX has released a set of predictions for 2020. According to BitMEX, BTC’s dominance of the overall crypto market will remain under 75%. The number suggests the altcoin market is here to stay for the foreseeable future. BitMEX Research is also mapping out a broad set of price predictions for BTC. The company expects Bitcoin to rise as high as $15,000 in the year ahead and says it will remain above $2,000 in a worst case scenario.

3.  Paraguay has conducted a mass audit of local cryptocurrency businesses. Latin American country’s anti-money-laundering (AML) chief, the Secretary for Preventing Money and Property Laundering (SEPRELAD), announced a nationwide crypto survey last week. Impelled by the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) June guidance on VASPs, the mass audit will help Paraguay’s government understand its domestic crypto industry, And it will pave the way for the country’s first crypto-specific regulations, set to roll out in the first half of 2020.

4.  Private key management firm Torus announced on Reddit today users will be able to send Ethereum (ETH) to any Reddit username or google email account. Torus applies a “name resolver” that lets users send ETH transactions using a google email address or reddit usernames. Instead of having to transfer cryptocurrency using long strings of alphanumeric characters, users are able to complete transactions using email addresses and usernames. Torus hopes that it will make easier for mainstream users to transact cryptocurrency.

5.  A Redditor has introduced a new Bitcoin (BTC) video game as a holiday gift to the crypto community. the new “Satoshi vs. the Shills” Bitcoin game is a survival shooter game featuring Bitcoin’s anonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto as the main character. With the game letting players assume the role of Nakamoto, they will have to stand against crowds of shills people referred to by the crypto community as those who promote cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. The player’s mission is to shoot the shillers and stop them from taking over the world.

6.  Malta-based Leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced the addition of new trading pairs with XRP and Ethereum. As per the announcement Binance will now support three fiat pairs with the Turkish Lira (TRY) that feature Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and leading stablecoin Tether (USDT). To top that off, the exchange's users can now trade USDT against the Russian Ruble (RUB). Back in November, the Turkish Lira became the latest fiat currency to land on the number one exchange by trading volumes.

7.  According to crypto trader Bitcoin Macro, Ethereum could reach massive price levels of $10,000 during the next bull market. One of the main catalysts for Ethereum to reach $10,000 in the future is related to Ethereum 2.0 and the migration from being a Proof-of-Work (PoW) network to becoming a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain project. This would allow users not to use Ethereum miners anymore and move to a decentralized network with staking for users, which are expected to receive rewards for holding their ETH.

8.  The American Cancer Society (ACS), one of the oldest and largest non-profit health organizations in the world committed to funding cancer research, is now accepting bitcoin donations through BitPay. ACS exec Brant Woodward told that their mission is urgent, and to accomplish it, they need to engage donors where they are. As crypto is a nascent financial technology, the ACS hopes working with BitPay brings younger donors into the fold. BitPay told it has handled more than $50 million in donations since 2017.

9.  The stock exchange of China’s technology capital Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SSE), launched an index tracking the performance of 50 blockchain firms. the index will be based on the stocks of 50 companies listed on the SSE that participate in the blockchain industry. The top 50 blockchain-related stocks are ranked based on their average daily market value over the past six months. SSE’s market capitalization is $3.12 trillion, making it the fourth largest in Asia and the eighth largest in the world.
