So I find this today just researching bitconnect's ICO and find out that Texas is now banning the is of bitconnect. I really don't understand bitconnect but just another way of the government sticking it's hand in the freemarket.

got burned by couple of similar scams. It called ponzi scheme they pay out but only for a time. Bitconnect is something special due to the fact they hold most coins they can earn by pos. And the fact it pays it usd makes it more sustainable as long as bitcoin prices are get higher the less they have to pay.
