HOW TO INVEST IN BITCONNECT

So what is this crypto currency and what’s it got to do with bitcoin and Bitconnect coin?

It all started with a software developer who goes by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto who invented the popular Bitcoin back in 2008 and release the blockchain in early 2009, it works by using cryptography and a sha256 encryption built on POW algorithm. Bitconnect coin is an Altcoin(Alternative coin) using a much more Eco friendly POW/POS(Proof of Work)(Proof of Stake(Interest)) algorithm with different block times to bitcoin and some other cool stuff, such as the algorithm also turns Bitconnectcoin(BCC) into an interest-bearing asset with a 120% return per year in the first year reducing over time.

NOTE: To gain profits through POS ‘minting’, users will have to hold their coins in a BitConnect-QT wallet for a minimum period of 15 days. these coins can then be sent to and sold or reinvested in the Bitconnect exchange at the current price of bitconnect coin or exchanged back to bitcoin. You can also send to various other exchanges to convert to other altcoins or back to fiat if you so wish.

So what can you do with BitConnect Coin?

With BitConnect Coin, you can start earning interest by “staking” in the desktop version of the BitConnect wallet. All you need is the download of the desktop QT wallet and then begin sending BitConnect Coin to your wallet this will start earning interest on it, the more coins you have the greater the returns. So what is bitconnect’s business model?
Please let me first clarify a few things first before we get started:-

Bitconnect – Is the name of the platform, which has the goal to connect people with investment opportunities.
Bitconnect Coin – Is the cryptocurrency or altcoin as discussed earlier, which you can be exchanged on their website or other cryptocurrency exchange platforms.
Bitconnect Lending – Is the term for the lending functionality of the platform, which allows to lend to the platform a specific amount of bitconnect coins and receive a daily profit usually around 0-1.8% depending on how volatile the investment was for that particular day.
At first it all appears a little daunting after you sign up and log in, So i will try and focus on the lending functionality and introduce you to the basic concept behind it.

Basically, Bitconnect has developed a ‘trading bot’ that you lend money to. It then uses your Bitconnect coin, which you will have to exchange from Bitcoin to start the trading bot.

The chart above represents interest rate changes on our platform, tracking the volatility of BTC vs USD and the volatility of USD against major world currencies.

The bot’s trading profit is dependent upon the volatility of the open market, meaning the more the exchange rate of Bitconnect coins move up and down, the more profitable it will be. You, the investor, receives a daily profit based on the trading bots results. Currently this it is at 0.93% average (30 day average) or 0.65% (7 day average) as of writing this post.

Getting started
How to start investing on the Bitconnect lending Platform?
Basically you have 2 different investment options on the Bitconnect website. You can either:

Exchange Bitcoins to Bitconnect Coins and wait for the value of Bitconnect Coins to rise. Then, sell them for a profit. Remember you can also send to your wallet for Minting to gain a small amount of extra coins.
You use the lending functionality with the exchanged Bitconnect Coins.
As mentioned earlier I will focus here on the second investment option. So after you exchanged your Bitcoins to Bitconnect Coins you have the following options:

Click on Lend Button from the Dashboard:

So as you can see on the screenshot it basically offers you 4 different investment options. The 2nd to 4th level offer daily bonus interest. In short: The more you are willing to invest, the shorter the capital is bound and the more bonus interest you will receive per day.

Below is an example what you can potentially earn from investing:

Example 1:

You invest $2,000 and therefore profit from the benefits of the 2nd level, according to the screenshot above.
This results in 0.10% bonus interest and your investment is locked for 239 days.

Here you can check the average interest rate. While writing this post, the average was at 1.07% (last 30 days).

If we calculate with the 1% average value interest rate plus the 0.10% bonus interest, this results in altogether 1.1% interest rate per day.
This is the equivalent of $22 profit per day based on the $2,000 investment.

After the pre-defined 239 days you will receive the $2,000 back. Just to make this clear, the $2,000 are locked for the whole duration!
In the end you would have earned $5,258 ($22 per day multiplied with 239 days). This is a return of investment of 263%!

Example 2:

Let’s stick to the previous example, but instead of paying your money out, you use the reinvest function. So each day you add the interest on top of your original investment.

So let’s see how that could look like in my Google spreadsheet here.

Day 1 = $2,000 -> $22
Day 2 = $2,022 -> $22.22
…
Day 239 = $26,660.00
As you can see, $26,660.00 would be possible with compound interest. But be aware that this money and all previous re-investments are locked. But you exploit this effect properly, you can earn some serious money!

Find a handy explanation + calculator for compound interest here. (In their example they use annual rate, but we have a daily rate. So adjust years to the amount of days, e.g. 239, to get an accurate result.)

Deposits & Payouts
The only way to invest is by depositing Bitcoins or Bitconnect Coins, there are many exchanges offering the facility to convert fiat to bitcoin or other alternative coins. But i find that Uphold was the easiest option got me. they are a well recognised institution and been around for some time now raising capital on Banktothefuture and Crowdcube.

The minimum amount to start investing is 100$.

Payouts are available in your lending wallet. From there you can decide if you want to send them to your wallet or re-invest it to benefit from the compound interest effect.
