Bitfilm of the Day (August 29, 2016): Over Time

in bitfilmoftheday •  8 years ago  (edited)

Over Time by Oury Athlan, Thibaut Berland and Damien Ferrié has won the 3D award at the Bitfilm Festival 2005 and many other awards. It is one of our all time favourites - so we think it's the perfect film to start our competition on Steemit.

Over Time is about the death of a puppet master. The puppets he created do not want to accept that their master is gone. They try their best to prolong and celebrate his life. This graduation film by three students of the famous French animation school Supinfocom is a tribute to Jim Henson, the inventor of the Muppets, who died in 1990.

We love this film, as it is bizarre, funny and sad at the same time - and very touching!

Here are the Rules of the Competition:

 1. Each day from Monday to Friday at 7pm CET we will present the "Bitfilm of the Day" and ask Steemians to vote for it.

 2. Each vote has the same weight.

 3. The number of votes in the first 24 hours after a film's launch in the competion are counted.

 4. The Steem Dollars generated until the disclosure of the winner film are collected.

 5. The film with the most votes wins the prize "Bitfilm of the Week". It will be disclosed on Sunday of that week.

 6. 70% of the collected Steem Dollars of that week go to the winning film maker. The rest pays the curator's work of selecting and presenting the films. Steem Dollars that are collected after the disclosure of the winner stay with @bitfilm.

 7. The Steem Power remains with @bitfilm. It will be used to upvote all future nominees of the competition.

 8. We will contact the winners of the prize. If they do not redeem their prize money one month after the disclosure of their "Bitfilm of the Week", it will be changed into Steem Power for @bitfilm.

Great movie. I haven't seen it before. Will there be mainly animated films?

There are no rules about which films we will show. In the first weeks there will probably be many animated films, as that is what we mainly presented in our festivals. The content of the future depends on the submissions of the film makers to our competition.

Great one. At the moment this is my favourite. looking forward watching more shortfilms :)
