Bitfinex will no longer service customers in the U.S.

Bitfinex just announced they will completely stop servicing customers in the United States within 90 days and gave everyone notice to withdraw funds. I recommend if you have any funds on Bitfinex to transfer them immediately, my thoughts on why not to keep your coins on an exchange just got stronger they can just stop servicing customers at any moment. I just barley opened an account on Bitfinex so I could buy Iotas, I can't believe they stopped servicing customers in the U.S. Here is the link:

    I don't know it could be the U.S. is going to start making new rules or regulations soon regarding crypto.........

      Upvoted! Sounds super bad! especially for tokens that isn't yet on polo and bittrex etc.

      I think it will hurt the market in the short run and make it stronger in the long run, if Poloniex and Bittrex stop servicing U.S. customers as well I will have nowhere to buy altcoins except for maybe a Chinese exchange that doesn't care or Shapeshift.io this just means there will be a greater demand for decentralized exchanges like Shapeshift that don't have boarders or boundaries. # Dont keep your coins on an exchange.....

      just wow. means people gotta keep a close eye and keep up with current news so don't leave their money stuck in an exchange that will no longer serve to U.S citizens. luckily this one gave some notice so gives time for others to hear of this.

      Thanks for the heads-up! Seems like a trend with the U.S. trying to put strict regulations on everything. Nothing worth doing is ever easy.
