The manufacturer of mining equipment Bitmain will release a new, more efficient device for bitcoin mining, writes The Block with reference to a source.
The miner will use the latest technology of 5-nanometer chips to provide increased performance and energy efficiency. According to the source, the device will issue a hashrate of 150 TH/s with an energy consumption of 3.1 kWh.
According to Chinese journalist Colin Wu, the new miner will be called S19XP. Bitmain plans to introduce the device in Dubai this week and is already promoting it among the largest customers, the source added.
If the performance data is confirmed, S19XP will become the most productive model of bitcoin mining equipment on the market. Now the leading miner from Bitmain is the S19 Pro, which is based on a 7-nm chip and outputs 110 TH/s with an energy consumption of 3.1 kWh. Thus, the new miner will outperform it by 36% in terms of performance, using the same amount of resources.
Earlier it became known about the suspension of sales of Bitmain miners in China amid new restrictions by local authorities.
