[UPDATE]: BitShares Massive Infrastructure Upgrade - Public DEMO available NOW

Power of Unity … Decentralized Business Network of APAsia.tech, DAOStreet and Open-Asset

We'd come up with an idea in the past few months to invest ourselves and build a professional business-grade network for the BitShares, in a non-profit sense to the Community. We identified infra to be a major missing piece of BitShares, back in 2017, lacking even the basic access nodes around the entire globe, constantly making people stressed about daily usage and connectivity toward the blockchain. We ended up creating, not just Truly Decentralized Business Network and Infrastructure, but we started a great partnership and friendship during this project.

As we have written before, the motto for long time was embedding only to businesses to "build on top of BitShares"; while remaining individuals would be left behind, even by the spirits of BitShares as a Decentralized Autonomous Company where there's actually room for everyone...

Today, in the name of that real DAC spirit - together with amazing people from DAOStreet, Open-Asset (BitShares Sweden), BitShares Slovenia, cum. agency Singapore, Effectus University Croatia, and more individuals – we are giving you to test new SET of 25 Public World Wide RPC BitShares nodes

  • [UPDATE]: In our first stage there are 25 publicly accessible nodes, with 0 (zero) load balancers (~30 will be available for WP).
  • [UPDATE]: We have been running, testing and optimizing these nodes for past 3 months (not all were born at the same time).
  • [STATUS]: All nodes are secured with Positive SSL Certificates by Comodo.
  • [UPDATE]: Some VPS instances are protected with additional DDOS Protection by IDC.
  • [NOTICE]: All nodes are having final days of checkups and hardening. SOME may be unreachable for few hours, please be patient, will be back online.
  • [DEVELOPMENT]: Simple Status page for nodes (UI Latest Update and connectivity explained by @billbutler)
  • [DEVELOPMENT]: Running witness_node on Ubuntu 16.04 as a system level service.
  • [DEVELOPMENT]: BitShares native NGINX Load Balancers - testing.

We will need massive infrastructure to handle those coming millions in bitshares. 😂

Not bad.

Please submit a pull request for these nodes to reference wallet https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/blob/staging/app/api/apiConfig.js

By the way, all the API nodes are also public seed nodes with default port 1776 open, right?

@abit,
Thanks, we'll try to be better, and will add them to the github, also polish some old ones that are not available anymore. Thanks for reminder aswell.

re 1776 - I'm not sure I understand. I've popped a question in Witness group in Telegram though.

Not bad.

Have you randomly tested them? Please do.

We did, and Community done as well through Telegram, plus we went one by one node.

port 1776 lol Bitshares is like perfect for Alex Jones to make an Infowars Life token people can use to get discounts on the Infowars Life Products and they can get paid for posting on steemit with the tokens maybe Lol or curating his youtube comments sections where we need help defgending the trith LOL

I swear I heard rumors that Alex Jones was at Steemit inc headquarters in Austin Texas last year, and I believe it to be true, and I am 100% sure Ned must have had a talk with Alex about his own Infowars life community and Smart media Token lol

Fantastic news, how about the bitsharestalk.org website upgrade and community integration?

Thank you Guys you truly are BitSharians. :)

This is a good investment in the public utility we all share - The DEX. Many thanks to everyone at @apasia.tech for their hard work. Looking forward to the future and achieving more with the community.

We are happy to have you with us John, and rest from the DAOStreet who committed both their time and resources to make this happen. Hopefully we will bring more Worker Proposals and improvements around blockchain, together as one.

bitshares up to the moon

I like how bitshares is looking right now. I mean everything has a good opportunity to push upwards but I'm not sure if all coins will do as usual. BTS is definitely one that will recover tho.

This is GREAT to see the results of such powerful work being given the exposure it deserves. Thank you for your quality post, namaste :)

Wow great news... nodes in Africa.... God bless u

2 in Cape Town, On replay for now, updates to follow when they are up.
If anyone knows of VPS or dedicated hosts for rental (or any co-lo for server hosting with power and Internet)in Africa countries, do get in touch. We understand and have found by experience this is still very challenging and frustrating for much of the continent. We know that crypto could do so much there.

Once they are up, would love to hear from where is your location, and the latency reading you get. Thanks and blessings.

Wow, it's really nice to see a public node directly in South Korea, Seoul!! Great!!!

Do you think it is advisable to invest in this currency? only for curiosity

As the wise say "Hard work pays off." Sky's the limit for bitshares!!!

any idea why bitshares.org hasn't been upgraded ? Stan said they had passed control over to a company a few weeks ago who would be updating the site in a few days ....... so far nothing

What actually happened in the few days was domain transfer and the setup of work in progress site which you can see on http://demo1.apasia.tech/ - and the final version is undergoing work to be proposed to the community in proper due process for vote by worker proposal soon.

Wish you are monitoring the nodes. I'm adding them to bitshares-ui, but many of them are returning 502 Bad Gateway as of writing.

Many thanks. Note that some may have DDOS protection and refuse normal monitoring checks like pings (DL or other of our admin can comment here also).

Quick status check from the wallet settings shows:

All the 'daostreet.com' nodes apart from Oregon are OK

Following apasia.tech nodes are up:

wss://valley.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://slovenia.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://england.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://chicago.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://singapore.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://japan.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://atlanta.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://new-york.bitshares.apasia.tech/ws
wss://bitshares.nu/ws

All successfully connected to if tested from wallet.bitshares.org right now.

The rest will be up soon. Many thanks for your support.

This is awesome guys...this was so badly needed....great work..cheers

Hoping BTS will gain more users and liquitity

Another step forward! Its just a matter of time that Decentralized Exchanges will be the standard while centralized exchanges will have a severely diminished role in the space.

How can I support bitShares?

Is there any opportunity to run a bitShares node on a Raspberry Pi?

How can I support BitShares?
Here are some ways ..

  • Open an account and use BTS on the DEX to trade
  • Learn to checkup bitsharestalk forum and follow committee, witness and worker proposals
  • Use your vote, regardless of weight... couldn’t emphasise this enough. This is #1 that everyone can do to make BitShares great
  • introduce yourself and participate regularly in http://t.me/bitshares_official for more ways!

Looking forward bts loading time

great job

We will require gigantic framework to deal with those coming millions in bitshares..
Much obliged to you!

great news for the community

thanks for all ur hard work

Maps and table updated to correct some locations. If the node doesn't connect right away, please try to refresh your browser!

👌👌👍💕

2 out of 2 Unreachable for me...

@liondani - Article above in the list is having Croatia with status "Replay", and France is up and running fine. Even though UI/Wallet shows unreachable, you still can click on Shuffle and it will connect. All are going through restart to process config change @abit suggested, in 2 batches. First daostreet, then apasia and rest. Glad you shown concern and interest for this ;) You are important part of both Steem and BitShares :)

Do you have any updates on the bitshares.org website?

great news i discover project!! i resteem in french community

I have a lot of interest but I don't know how to do it.
would You like to help me?
Thanks for shear it.

Happy Steeming.
