It has been a while since Bytemaster(BM) left Bitshares community. All I heard is that he is spending most of his time on steemit. However, bitshares 2.0 itself is not perfect enough. I am wondering, has he decided to leave BTS permanently, or it is possible that he can be hired by the blockchain(worker proposal) some day?

I believe that bytemaster putting bitshares on the side burner was a wise move. It brings more stability to the ecosystem...something entrepreneurs absolutely need in order to build their business. Also it was long due for the community to carry the torch...just like bitcoin did.
I see a nice progression in the "fill order" and "transfer" on this chart: http://cryptofresh.com/charts which mean that it's progressing in adoption and use.

I think bts needs stability of the protocol. It seems to be running fine without me. Lessons from steem can eventually help.

BitShares doesn't need backend developer. The blockchain is stable and fast.
What it needs are businesses like OpenLedger and FreedomLedger to improve on the frontend side and bring in new users with liquidity.

I agree most of what you said, but it can not be denied that BTS still has some bugs, which prevent it from being adopted by users like openledger. For example, the white list function doesn't work properly.

you are talking about frontend issues. The blockchain works perfectly. There are even some features that are not yet exposed to the GUI at all. It's the duty of businesses to develop around them and make use of them.

Where did you hear that BM left Bitshares? – maybe in a weekly BeyondBitcoin hangouts?
