If you are BTS fan today you had a chance to make your stash bigger for cheaper. The price difference was almost 100 satoshi per coin.

Poloniex and Bittrex 24h High and Lows.

Markets and Volume

Notice that almost 32% of volume comes from Decentralized Exchange built on BTS which works same as Poloniex or Bittrex - just cant be hacked as has no centralization. You can register for free here and have a look.

I'm a fan of BitShares (just posted about it today, actually). I wonder how long it will be before the market catches up to how amazing this distributed exchange system is, along with all the functioning assets and pegged assets. Amazing stuff. Do you think it's just too far ahead of it's time right now?

BTS was totally ahead of time, the exchange itself is catching up but needs more marketing surely. Im doing my best to show it to people and show advantages but still there is alot that can be done to make it more popular

It's funny for me to get into it so late (by almost 3 years) and still have it be ahead of it's time. I wonder if new DEX's will move past it (ones built on Ethereum maybe?). There's so much competition out there. Seems like marketing is a big part of what all of this is about and which projects do well and which don't. I'd love to have the technology lead the way, but it doesn't seem like that's how things work, unfortunately.

Ethereum couldn't handle anywhere near the capacity demonstrated on the stress test.

I think the technology itself is amazing. Unfortunately, it's not just about which technology is superior when it comes to user adoption. Could Ethereum be the VHS to Bitshares Betamax? I wish the world was a technocratic meritocracy where the best technologies which can help the greatest number of people get adopted first and grow the fastest. Unfortunately, so much comes down to marketing, perception, feelings, emotions, etc.

If more businesses, individuals, and companies flock to Ethereum (which can be bought directly on newbie onramps like Coinbase), will their marketshare and network effect continue to grow even if Bitshares is a superior technology? If so, what, if anything can be done about that?

I was just looking at the BitShares price right now, trying to figure out if I should buy more. It's hard to look at the three year price chart and know something will change here. But I want it to change because I want the best technology to prevail. Am I being irrational to want that?

Here's a good analysis of BTS by a very rational and well-respected trader from TradingView.

this looks really good

Oh, very cool. I'll check it out. Thanks!

THE MARKET DECIDES.
...
Who decides the best technologies? Government, market regulators (dictators)?
I thought crypto was to usher in the age of truly free markets?
...
The market decides the best technologies with regard to various aspects such as technical superiority, usability, availability etc. Also marketing, perception, feelings, emotions etc.
The fact that #Ethereum is available on newbie platforms such as coinbase is probably a value proposition that appeals to the market.
My suggestion is to not only market #BitShares as better than Ethereum but also as a hedge for Ethereum and other platform tokens.
My feelings are the same with regards to OpenLedger: it should be marketed also as a hedge for centralized exchanges so that users can have a reason to look past the low variety and low volumes which will eventually be rectified with network effects.

Since they are POW that's not a surprise... It will be interesting to compare when they transform to POS

Technology and development will lead the way however to get the momentum and emotional energy required for this coin to take off it will take a very strategic and well thought out marketing strategy with a development team committed to long term growth and evolution. All currencies are about faith and confidence. In time I think it will find its true market price however at the moment we are finding that the coins are fighting for space and market share. We are still in the early stages of this entire industry so my goal is to maintain a stacking strategy and BTS is high on my list. Fingers are crossed. Who exactly is involved in the marketing of BTS?

What you said here is so true. As to who is involved in the marketing of BTS? That's a great question. It is time for all parties within the ecosystem to promote BTS on top of the digital assets and smartcoins which the platform brings to life. Marketing should focus on the value and the need for a decentralized exchange, the core asset BTS and how the ecosystem works within which brings in higher volume of trades and peer to peer transactions on the system. Developers must also focus on developing a comprehensive and easy to use library of APIs which can be integrated easily on their web projects and mobile apps.

I would also like to see some comprehensive set of tutorial videos on how to use each section of the BitShares 2.0. Maybe there are some already (I have not found any) however I find BitShares 2.0 a little overwhelming at first and would appreciate a full run through on all features to gain more confidence. I feel this would be a game changer.

Why does coinmarketcap.com list BitShares Asset Exchange and OpenLedger as two different exchanges?

...
This post alludes to them being the same exchange and the provided links at coinmarketcap.com sort of end up at the same exchange.
I believe if they were listed as the same exchange, they would be shown to have a combined higher transaction volume and thus be more attractive to users.

Its pretty complex to explain clearly. Let me put it this way - everything is being traded on OL but assets can also be traded on DEX not OL.

Could you please direct me to a resource such as an article somewhere that explains this in more detail?

Ty very informative.

BitShares is the new Bitcoin!

Yes, I agreed.

cheers

Awesomesauce! The Bitshares network is amazing and I love this platform and interface. :D
