BitShares UI Wallet Update 2.0.180418

in bitshares •  7 years ago

The BitShares Network is a Decentralized Exchange with a Stakeholder-Approved Project Funding system.

It runs on a Delegated Proof-of-Stake Consensus, like many other modern block-chain systems currently running.

BitShares is your one in all wallet and exchange, and the BitShares UI is built to enhance the user experience in a stand-alone application and web-interface.

How to use the BitShares Exchange Platform

18th of April Release

The development team releases two new updates every month. As part of the development team of the BitShares UI platform, I'm proud to write about these new changes we have done this milestone.

As usual, there are many features and improvements to the app; this is just a few of all the many changes done.

Crypto Bridge Gateway addition

Crypto Bridge is a Gateway and Exchange service, operating on the BitShares platform.

Within the UI Crypto Bridge is now available for Depositing and Withdrawing. Enabling the BRIDGE.xxx assets, users now has a large amount of new coins available for transferring to and from the BitShares DEX.

Crypto Bridge also has additional features on their own Crypto Bridge Trading DEX, which includes the possibility to lock BRIDGE.BCO for a period to receive a share of the collected fees that the exchange makes on all their asset tradings.

Increased BlockTrades Asset Pairs

Within the UI you can directly exchange assets through the Block Trades service. This is available both within the dashboard as the "Buy" option, for assets that you already own, or on markets that have an option to be bought on the Block Trades platform.

This release adds Steem Dollar, Doge, Bitcoin Cash, PPY and Litecoin as usable assets for buying BTS or any other Block Trades enabled asset on the DEX.

The pair that is accessible within the Buy modal depends on Block Trades service. Please read about any issues on their service page

Deposit/Withdraw Modal and Gateway Improvements

The new modals for Deposit and Withdraw now has 4 of our gateways easily usable in the system. These includes Open Ledger, RuDEX, Winex and Crypto Bridge. With this new update we only lack GDEX, which are schedule to be completed by the next update on 1st of May. We are working directly with their development team to make things work as smootly as possible.

There was also significat work towards creating an easy way to add new gateways as well as an in depth Wiki article created for those interested in making their systems work with the new UI system.

Nodes Access Updates

The section for nodes access had another few changes, making the functions more clear and fixing a few issues that arose after the previous major change.

There was also a major addition of available nodes that a user can connect to, hopefully making the success of a stable connection even better. Many of these nodes are maintained by witnesses and regular joes while some are from the worker proposal to improve network stability and accessibility around the world.

Issue Asset

The issue asset section of the UI had a fix after last release, which made it hang on selecting the receiving account. During this it also received a few visual and code conditional updates.

Other Changes

  • Typoes in to help document was fixed
  • Russian locale was updated
  • Recent transactions now display full date instead of time ago.
  • RUDEX adds BTS pairs MUSE, TT, SCR and ZEPH to markets
  • Improvements and refactoring of router logic, to improve stability.

It's likely your system clock is off if you are unable to sync with any API nodes from that computer. Make sure your computer is getting its system time from a valid ntp server.

How do I know if it is off? It seems to show the correct time.

Make sure your computer is getting its system time from a valid ntp server.

What is a valid ntp server and how do I make sure my computer is getting its system time from it?

Hard refresh the page, so that any cache is reloaded. I have experienced the same long time ago.

What is a "hard refresh"?
In 3 different browsers from the same computer it always failed to work for me in every one of them.
And in blocktrades' case, unlike in bitshares' case I managed to register, but never managed to place an order.
Only from another computer I did not get this screen.

I'd advice you to try again, reload with F5. I've had this happen to me a few times, very rarely though.

Switching to a different node by deselecting the automatic node selection is also something that you can do.

Nothing helped except from a switch to another computer which is not in my ownership.
This is all I ever got from bitshares and no help from anyone.
Around 1 month ago they abandoned their discord support which never helped me anyway, and moved to reddit exclusively, the corrupt and censored website.

And if it is specially about openledger node, then you can hide them. I do not like their nodes.

No clue about what you wrote here. I wish that I had.
I had problems with both bitshares.org (screenshot) and with openledger due to my inability to register to bitshares.
