Centralized Exchanges Finally Spot the Incoming SEC AsteroidsteemCreated with Sketch.

in bitshares •  7 years ago  (edited)

Realizing that BitShares is an agile little animal, thundering big exchanges are attempting to stamp it out before the SEC asteroid hits. Fortunately, BitShares is strongly aligned with Stokens, com, Token Exchange Self Regulating Body (TXSRB.org) and former SEC lawyers who are making sure that transparent, decentralized, honest robots will be the lone survivors when the dust settles.

Today's delisting of BitShares by one silly centralized exchange facing the SEC ELE (Extinction Level Event), is the only ammo they've got. And they just expended it like a shot in the dark.

Watch what happens next, Pinky.

Can't wait to watch what happens next as Goldman Sachs officially considers to trade bitcoin. The warmup phase is over. Time for the end games to really start...

All the winning team needs to do is to repeat the truth over and over until the last daydreamer has awoken from the addiction to the nightmare ;-)

I also cant wait.. well said.

If Trex closes, then where should we go? Almost 70% of my coins are in the exchange. I don't want to get a hard wallet with just a penny of btc.

Hey @stan, this whole story got me really confused. I'm not at all versed in the legal financial mumbo-jumbo so it's pretty hard on my brain. How is bitshares a security and other coins are not? Doesn't it mean that all the other exchanges (like polo) will delist bts too pretty soon? Wouldn't it be the death of bts if the only place to trade them is the dex? Does it mean that soon the SEC will ban all the ICOs except the ones that go on the compliant platforms? Isn't it logical to assume that all the cryptofans that dream of new world without banks and governments will think that "SEC compliant" = "under government's heel"? Aren't you worried about the effects of all of the above on the upcoming marketing campain that you are planning?

I would be very glad to know your opinion on this stuff.
Thanks in advance

None of the things you are worried about are true. The Bittrex Mistake will impact them far more than BitShares. The first step is to get the TXSRB recognized as the global authority for crypto. Then it can fight effectively for the principals we all cherish.

Can you explain more about this SEC ELE and what it might look like and how far away you think it is likely to be?

i think you make a good point.

Hi @stan
You seems to know a lot about Bitshares.
I couldn't find solutions on internet for the following issue :
I download the Bitshares light wallet, Desktop Mac version. And the Failed Sync API Server" page keeps coming even after things I have done to change the clock to match one of the API etc
DO you have any idea?
I have a great amount of BTS on Bittrex that I would like to withdraw.
I'm in New Zealand so far (travelling). Thank you

There is an easy answer if I could remember it. Like resyncing or selecting a different node. Ask these guys:

Much appreciated for your help !! :)

Hi Stan, me again, nobody is able to answer me and the admins doesn't reply on the discord app. Do you remember the easy answer in case? Sorry to bother you

how to switch node-btsd.jpg

Hi @tajnost thank you very much for the reply
I can't even access to the wallet, it's going to the Failed Sync API server page right away. I haven't get the chance to even create my account yet. And I tried all different server but not one of them works. Do you think because I'm in NZ is linked to the issue?

most definitely not, I live in NZ use the DEX everyday and have no issues. I just clicked and think what you have is a clock issue see http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20030217004435671

Thanks mate for the comment. It works after I realise the Mac had 2 minutes more compare to my iPhone. And when I changed it worked fine. Sweet as

As major decentralized exchanges coming, centralized exchanges will loose money and power.

Every crisis is an opportunity, wanted to get some bitshares for a while, will do it now.

Hurry hurry :) won't be long before take off, so fasten your seatbelt !

What is the best way now that Bittrex is not an option, through Openledger?

yes, through openledger. that's where i bought bitshares.

Is there such a thing as a paper wallet for Bitshares?

I used the opportunity to buy more Bitshares!

Institutions are quaking in their boots. The revolution will not be centralized. Decentralized systems truly empower the individual, not just with a voice but with monetary rewards in the case of steemit, the world's first decentralized publishing platform.

It looks to me like there's a huge, massive sale on BitShares right now. Time to gather up some tokens while they're 1/2 off !!!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what was going on with Bittrex. Sounds like some people are getting worried about the decentralized exchanges.

Physicist will be impressed when the earth starts rotating around BitShares!

Cheap Bitshares for everyone! Till this thing goes KABOOM!

I am personally a great BitShares fan from the very beginning, you might have seen us with the bitsharesfcx.com trying to propagate BitShares info and cryptos in general to the french speaking persons.
I think that "exchange" are in a revolving period, the centralized era is about to end, and today, fewer and fewer centralized exchange are showing big positive signs as crypto is attracting more and more attention.
This is the time for BitShares to play his game, and it has to be played well. Here we are, BitShares, with an incredible technology, which is working, and proven. It is an incredible tool that deserve much much more attention.
Following you @stan very closely and if you need any help for promoting BitShares it will be an honor to help!
Cheers,
Mangou

Hi Stan great post, enjoy reading about stokens, BitShares seems to be one of the few crypto working on a solid legal foundation . I wrote a post on Hero yesterday which you may like:

Good

I think this (https://www.coindesk.com/crypto-startup-wants-you-to-trade-on-exchanges-without-trusting-them) should be incorporated in all of the centralized exchanges out there
