Welcome to the 27th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. I will be releasing this report weekly to look at the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.
Bitshares - State of the Network - 21st March 2017
The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.
Bitshares this week conducted a stress test on the public Bitshares testnet with amazing results; The test reached a maximum of 62,645 Operations inside a single Block 3 second block! that is 20881 Operations Per Second (Operations are changes to state and include transfers, market orders, votes, account updates ect..) and a maximum of 9,985 Transactions in a single Block! that's a staggering 3328 Transactions Per Second!! (transactions are a signed message that includes 1 or more operations). During the test period the network sustained 100-200 Transactions per second between coordinated tests as mentioned above. These are great results but the stress test team is not satisfied and will be pushing forward with upcoming tests in the near future.
Alfred Garcia (Bitshares Core Dev) has been focusing on Github issues this week and has closed a bunch of them; check out his progress HERE
@svk has released a new Bitshares client (v. 2.0.170314) featuring updated UI design provided by @etherdesign as well as some UX enhancements to make working with wallet a more intuitive and fluid experience; I Personally recommend checking it out as it looks amazing!. As well as the new design there has also been a lot of updates and fixes included as well - Checkout the latest updates HERE or download the latest version for your computer HERE - https://bitshares.org/wallet has also been updated with the latest updates.
Peerplays Jonathan Baha'i has announced this week that they are currently working on a promotional video that is expected to be released soon; they have also coordinating their global teams, building their sports betting application and a new website with a sport betting focus to capture their initial target market and ensure that customers are well informed and not overloaded by crypto currency related news and details which may not be of interest to the average punter. They have also announce that the testnet 'core' wallet will be released on the 7th of April; this being the core wallet it will only include account management features that PPY holders will user to work with their account, it will not include any gaming aspects of Peerplays. You can hear Jonathan's official update on the latest Beyond Bitcoin Hangout which you can find HERE
@xeroc has release a new version of uptick (v 0.1.2). Uptick is python based command line tool for interfacing with the Bitshares network. you can find more details of the changes HERE or download the latest version HERE
@xeroc has release a new version of python-bitshares (v 0.1.4). Python-Bitshares is python based library used to interact with the Bitshares network. you can find more details of the changes HERE or download the latest version HERE
@kencode has released his weekly update filled with news from a number of projects that Bitshares-Munich are working on (BlockPay, C-IPFS, Bitshares Stealth, Smartcoins Wallet). 5 out of 6 chains have been implemented into the smartcoins wallet and Bitshares Stealth (using ZKSnarks) seems to be coming along very nicely. Heaps of great updates can be found HERE
@full-steem-ahead has published a witness report which can be found HERE
If you have been living under a rock; i will inform you that @dan (Daniel Larimer a.k.a Bytemaster) has resigned from Steemit. What does this mean for Bitshares? No idea but its nice to think that if Dan wanted to return to Bitshares the worker proposal system would be able to employee him as a developer on the platform in which he built. Imagine the pride in being hired by the community and paid by the blockchain which you built. Worst case Dan will be looking to 'build another ship' in which i'm sure the underlying technology would be Graphene; this would further strengthen the existing platforms built on the Grapehene technology.
OpenLedger is assisting with the crowd-sale of the new platform 'Internet of Coins' and their flagship asset 'HYBRID'. Internet of coins aims to be a digital wallet in which you can store you value from multiple platforms (Bitcoin/Omni, Ethereum, Bitshares, NEM, Waves, Counterparty, NXT) and with the use of their HYBRID asset (which trades on all platforms) will allow users to exchange value between different chains. Check out the platform HERE or watch the live stream from Openledger HERE
23 User Issued Assets (UIA's) have been registered this week with majority of the registrations being attributed to 2 user accounts (ddd888 and thedex). Of the 2 'thedex' has registered a number of cryptocurrency symbols such as MAID, USDT and ETH (note the 3 Letter UIA 'ETH' the rareist and most expensive UIA's on offer). You do not register 3 letter UIA's unless you have a business idea or some form of plan which could be used to recoup the costs. To give you an idea of the cost involved with registering such a premium asset; the cost at the time of writing for a lifetime member to register a 3 letter symbol is 234,821 BTS / $1264 USD
Today's snapshot of asset markets on the Bitshares DEX shows that the trading volume for the last 24 hour period is over a quarter of a Million dollars coming in at just under 300,000 USD
This weeks Bitshares hangout recording has been published and is availible HERE
This weeks Beyond Bitcoin hangout recording has been published. This week had talks from @peerplays @good-karma @virtualgrowth you can find more details and last weeks recording HERE
Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 158112; an increase of 720 wallets/accounts since last week
The last asset registered this week is asset #1315 and it is named 'CCCCC' registered by 'ddd888' with the description 'CCCCC'.

happy daze ahead.
How do I take my BTS on poloniex and add them to the BTS wallet?
It seems like its impossible. Is this true? If not please share how to do so.
If it's not possible to take BTS from poloniex to Btsahres wallet... WTF WTH not?
I'd love to increase my investment but BTS is not user friendly as it is. Just saying and I love Btsahres as a trading coin. Would love to say more.

Open an account (wallet) on Bitshares, for instance on Openledger. Then withdraw from poloniex to your Bitshares account name. Or did I understand your question?

Hi Solarguy,
Did you manage to get this sorted out? I know some people offered some help already and it shouldnt be to hard to follow but i have a feeling there is even a gif somewhere that runs through the process.

Yes, It worked. thank u and to all who had the patients kept at it. I kept thinking i needed a receiving address or code like btc but i don't. easy. That's what I was looking for. Also I didn't realize my wallet was locked either. I was logged in but i needed unlock it. ><
@taskmanager
So what are these learn coins? I don't really know what to do now that I have a some bts in my wallet. Got an old post you point me too on using the exchange. thanks again.
@virtualgrowth
Got it. thanks

LEARNCOIN is an asset I created that trades on the bitshares market, I sent you some.
It allows new users to trade in a coin they didn't have to pay for, getting them used to how the trading system works before they spend their own coins in the marketplace.
The markets can be a little confusing at first, but LEARNCOIN has buys set up across various markets allowing new users to gain small amounts of various tokens. The best and most simple advice is, buy low and sell high.
I don't have any of the LEARNCOIN videos done yet, so for now here is Chronos Crypto:

it's easy,
if I wanted to take bitshares from my polo and move it to my bitshares I just go to deposit/withdrawal on polo, use my bitshares name as the address, leave the memo blank and hit the button...
A few minutes the BTS is in my bitshares balance

What? When i look at my bts wallet there is no option for bitshares. I see btc, dash others and even steem.
I googled it weeks ago. Several sites said 1 go to my bitshares wallet 2.0, done. 2 go to openledger and choose currency. No bts in those options.
Im sitting on, to me, a lot of bts not working just waiting to sell.
I will try ur instructions. I really want it to work. Get back tomorrow when get up. Thanks for reply.
They should make it clear.

BTS is the core token of bitshares, I assure you it is there.
All those choices you seen were likely trading against BTS or BTC (OPEN.BTC).
task-manager is my BTS address, so when moving BTS to my account from polo I just enter in task-manager into the address box.
If you want, give me your BTS account name and I will send you a few BTS so they show up in your main wallet. I can also send some LEARNCOIN, so you can figure out trading at no cost to you.

???. At least I have transferred BTS a thousand times just by sending it from one account to another.
