Bitshares - State of the Network - 22nd May 2018
The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.
This week has seen a 5% increase in BTS being used as collateral for the Smartcoin ecosystem. That's an extra 20 Million BTS that have been locked to the Bitshares network this week to ensure the value of the Smartcoin economy. With all the talk of smartcoins recently it's great to see the longest running alternative to a centralized system still going strong; redeemable 1:1 at any time via settlement and 190% backed with BTS collateral! - That is to say for every $1 of face value in smartcoins there are $1.90 worth of collateral
The week $500,000 USD worth of BitUSD has been issued increasing the supply of BitUSD by 5.5% week on week, BitCNY still holds the number 1 spot with over 36 Million USD worth of the smartcoin issued on the network and being used by traders to hedge against volatility.
GDEX has announced they will be hosting the ICO of IDHUB (GDEX.IDHUB). The ICO has a total of 6,852,000 initial tokens and bitCNY is the payment currency accepted by GDEX for the ICO. The sale started on the 18th of May and you can find more information about it HERE or visit the projects website HERE
@kimchi-king has been the very first user to use the EasyDex fiat On-ramp (more info) to deposit fiat currency to the exchange and have the value reflected in the Bitshares eco-system. EasyDex are currently up and running with fiat on ramps and working with regulators to get their Off-ramp/withdrawals online. Find more info HERE
Easydex announced this week that the first week of their portfolio builder campaign (more info HERE) has had a great start. They have also announced a weekly report as well as community hangout every week on Fridays at 20:00 UTC (4:00 pm EST). You can find more information HERE
