Welcome to the 45th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. A weekly report focusing on the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.

Bitshares - State of the Network - 25th July 2017

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

• @stan is on the speakers list for the 100X Blockchain investors summit on August 8th and 9th; This is an online event but tickets are required to attend. The 'Workshop: Trading Into Crypto Dollars in Bear Markets – Bitshares' session goes for 30 minutes on the 9th of August. I also noticed another session on the 8th of August called 'Altcoins: Beyond Bitcoin and the Ether' which has the description 'IOTA, Bitshares, Stellar'.

• @taconator has compiled another Fee report for the Bitshares network for the month of June 2017. The report provide details on fee's paid for different network operations and ranks the operations in terms of network income as a percentage, Asset creation was the networks most profitable avenue last month accounting for 64% of all fees paid to the network. • @btswolf has update the Bitshares.Community website. The website looks great and is jam packed with great information and resources. You can see for yourself HERE

• @stan has been busy planning a Bitcoin sharedrop on Bitshares. The Project is known as Bitcoin United and is being planned to execute in the event of a hard-fork on the Bitcoin network. The asset being share-dropped 1:1 with bitcoin is being referred to as 'Fast Bitcoin' based on the fact it will be running on Graphene which has proven its scaleablity using 3 second blocktimes. • Bitshares is ranked #3 in the Cyber.Fund leader board. The ranking is not based solely on price or marketcap but on a number of metrics including community, liquidity, internal economies, whitepapers, documentations and more. You can see the Cyber.Fund Leader board HERE

• OpenLedger has been ranked #9 in the recent 'Top 10 Best Web Wallets for Cryptocurrency in 2017' report released by released by Disruptor Daily slipping in just ahead of blockchain.info. You can find the report HERE

• @kencode has released his weekly update for Smartcoins Wallet, BlockPay, Ledger Nano S, Stealth and BitShares Munich IVS. This week has seen lots of progress as well as the team getting their hands on the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet!. You can see @kencode's update HERE. Ken has also posted a job advertisement this week; He is looking for an Experienced C Developer - if you think you have what it takes or know someone who does you can find more details about the position HERE

• @cm-steem has detailed the initial discussion regarding sharedropping Bitcoin onto the Bitshares network as a User Issued Asset(UIA). In this post he goes into detail regarding the advantages and disadvantages of such an idea and includes a comparison of technologies. You can find the post HERE.

• RUDEX has released an announcement for the launch of a Peerplays (PPY) gateway service. They have also outlines transparency / audit requirements allowing anyone at anytime to check that the UIA is backed 1:1 with PPY on the peerplays blockchain. • OpenLedger has released an announcement that they will taking their OMNI gateways offline on the 25th of July for maintenance. You can see the announcement HERE

• Investopedia has published an article which outlines the launch dates of the upcoming Openledger ICO's (OCASH, eDev.one, GetGame and Apptrade); Don't forget OBITS holders get a 5% sharedrop of these projects. You can find more details HERE

• @ingemkts has proposed a design change for the Bitshares GUI and is looking for feedback on the proposal. The proposal includes tradingview integrated charts as well as changes to the current layout of the core wallet. See her designs HERE

• @peerplays have started an effort to gather Graphene based articles and documentation in one place, Check out heaps of great articles and contribute any hidden gems that you know of HERE

• If you are holding Open.Muse be sure to move your holdings from the Bitshares network to the Muse network in time for the upcoming snapshot and launch of their new blockchain. @robrigo has written a guide on the process HERE

• The Bit20 market has suffered a Black swan. Bit20 remain active but borrowing is now not allowed. You can keep trading the current supply at the moment but the current situation will remain until the next BSIP to reactivate black swan markets is implemented. Please join the Bit20 Telegram channel if you want more details on the matter and discuss other topics about Bit20.

• This weeks Bitshares hangout recording has been published and is available HERE

• Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 375843; an increase of 3070 wallets/accounts since last week

• The last asset registered this week is asset #1550 and it is named 'CRYPTOCADEMY' registered by 'real-ct' with the description 'The academy contains a knowledge-base for new and seasoned traders alike. cryptocademy has its own economy (and blockchain-based token), allowing for member-to-member transactions for services such as one-on-one training sessions, group seminars, and other educational content.'

Some interesting assets have been registered this week including:

• 'TCAPFS' with the description 'Transcendence.Capital Founders Shares'. The asset was registered by account 'dr-orlovsky'. Using a google search i found a facebook page linking to the following slide deck

• 'GCSTT' with the description 'Each GCSTT is equal to 1/9000000 of coin supply. Visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1471897.0 for more project information. Direct questions to [email protected].'

• 'GAMESHARES' with the description '游戏股（GameShares.org） – 基于石墨烯技术发型的数字资产' (Google Translation: Game shares (GameShares.org) - Digital assets based on graphene technology). Their website suggests 'GameShares will become the mainstream block chain game platform for value and information exchange' which will officially open the global public offering on September 1, 2017.

• 'RMB' a new 3 letter UIA (Premium Asset) registered by 'BTSABC'. The description is '帝国区交所（比特股内盘）的交易货币，由比特帝国发行和负责承兑。1RMB等于1人民币。充值与提现：http://btsabc.org/article-458-1.html' (Google Translate: The trading currency of the Empire State Exchange (the intraday stock) is issued by the Bit Empire and is responsible for acceptance. 1RMB is equal to 1 RMB. Recharge and mention). From my understanding of the URL included in the asset description (http://btsabc.org/article-1020-1.html) RMB aims to provided deeper liquidity for the BitCNY:RMB pair with high volume buy and sell walls supporting the peg.
