NOW THE DETAILS
Binance as the choosen platform from TRON has been releasing information almost daily on how big the launch of BTT will be, this is obvious since they are the main exchange supporting this token. The launch of BTT (BitTorrent Token) is so crucial for TRON, many have said that if this token is adopted by a small percentage of BitTorrent users TRON network may just crash as a recent report from BREAKER interview with previous BitTorrent employee.
The BTT with be launch at Binance with only to pairs to start, BNB and TRX, those who participate will be cap to USD $20,000 worth of BTT.
This is not the first time that we see BitTorrent involve with crypto since before it was aquire by TRON, the decentralize gigant has accept Bitcoin as a payment gateway. During the launch of BTT there will be users from certain countries that wont be able to participate, Afghanistan, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Burundi, Central African Republic, China, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, United States, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
Details of the reason why have not been provided, must be for some local legislation on this countries, lucky me Panama doesnt show on that list and I hope I can buy some BTT and run BitTorrent Speed.
BitTorrent SPEED:
This seems to be the new feature added to the popular Torrent client uTorrent, BitTorrent Speed will be available this year around Q2, no oficial date has been announce.
TRON has mention that what they are doing wont improve the BitTorrent protocol itself, at the moment the main porpuse the token is to incentivise those who seed the files for longer for those who want to download. BitTorrent SPEED will work on a bidding system where those who bid for a certain amount of slots to download will need a BTT balance, in this case this users describe as the Service Requester.
A fix reserve price will be set to 0 as initial but it is mention on the whitepaper that this will also be set by users seeding the file, once the reserve price is set the seeder will be able to claim a chunk of this file, at first the system will be on auto-bidding but there are plans for all this feature to be manual.
BitTorrent Token future:
In the future there will be extra services added to the platfor:
- Decentralize Content Deliver
- Decentralize Storage Service
- Decentralize Proxy Service
This is just the startup of multiple features for the platform where now it wont only be opensoource but at the same time the users of this protocol will be incentivise to provide a service as part of this decentralize network.
