It has been some trainings since I wrote my last entry but I have been training.
Today I had another private lesson and we focused on mount top control.
We did 3 different kinds of mount control
climbing as high as possibles with the knees. The knees are pinched for more control. My should is on my opponents chin and making him look sideways, my weight is slightly moved up.
I am more down with my hooks close in pressing my weight over my hip into my opponent to flat him out more.

- I am sitting quite loose on my opponent and waiting for him to turn. As he turns I drop down, my knee to his head/shoulder and forming a frame with my food.
The other leg is near to his belly and also the legs pinch to control him.
As I drop I underhook his upper arm and grab my own wrist, this way I have very tight control. I can go for an armbar from here.
Also I can take the back by forming a ramp with my leg and pulling him on it and rolling him over and get my hooks in.
From the position shown in the second photo, my go to move is a bow and arrow choke. People usually manage to get out from my armbars from this position, I think somehow my positioning is not tight enough.
I like that you include pictures with your posts for clarity, it really helps visualizing the technique.
I don't always comment on them, but I always read your diaries because they also help me remember details about techniques or get me thinking about positions and attacks. Keep them coming, @flipstar!

I think that's great advice. That bow and arrow choke from there seems to be a much higher % and can really set up a secondary armbar attack when they defend. I think overall that seated back mount is my fav position in all of jiu jitsu.
Another good read @flipstar!

The training was no-gi, so no lapel to grab. The picture is just one from google.
Sometimes I dont find a picture from the techniques I got taught but I try to put some more effort into it or maybe I can take some.
I often have problems to really describe the technique and I will probably have problems to understand what I have meant in a couple of months when it is not fresh in my mind anymore.
Going to the back felt better to me than going for the armbar (probably some flexibility problem)
Thx a lot. I appricate you are reading my diaries :-)
Btw congrats on your success on your recent posts, really happy for you :-)

These are just a couple of moniker’s associated with being a white belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. And the road to blue belt is one of the longest feeling journeys you will ever set out upon in your entire life. You see, Jiu jitsu has no definite system for when someone is in line to be promoted, it is simply your professors discretion. It can take anywhere from 6 months to two years or more depending on a lot of things. So if you have been training BJJ for what seems like forever yet haven’t received your blue belt, perhaps you should read the top 10 reasons why your professor may be holding you back.
