Training with a pretty decent female grappler: @nat-da-cat, and she inadvertently knee'd me in the ear as I pulled a kimura sweep from bottom side control :)

Ouch! She got ya good! Going out the back door to get out of side control is going to suck for a few weeks. If you don't have the cauliflower gene you should be good, but might want to keep a syringe on hand to drain it just in case.
It's really not too puffy yet. I've never really hurt my ear this bad before though. I'm already struggling with side control bottom out the back door. Where my left shoulder connects to the top head of my tricep is either strained or hurt in some way. Driving with an underhook has been miserable, and sometimes impossible lately. I've been taking it easy and training very lightly, and really resting more than I have every. Not very much lifting or even bodyweight if it puts a lot of pressure on my tri, shoulder or chest. Really trying to rest it and use light weight to rehab it.
Yeah, I think it's genetic, we got teammates who never get it even though its gets bruised. Just hope you're one of the lucky ones :) Got mine a year into training.
Also, finally glad to see more people from the #bjj community on Steemit. I feel like we are slowly beginning to see more and more people on here. It's going to be such a great platform for martial arts and training. Once the mainstream jits community realizes the potential of Steemit, I think we'll see an explosion for the #bjj #mma and #ufc tags. It's been a slow year to get to this point and I try to tell all of my bjj friends. Most don't get bitcoin so they don't really see the value of Steemit.
