The Pride of a Father

These are two of my friends. A father and his son at a Jiu Jitsu competition. If his son is to win or lose he's still calm with his approach and the way he handles the advice. His son has come a long way through Jiu Jitsu and with his wrestling. I admire the bond they have and the strength they show together. This is what family is about. You can't see the wife/mom but she does Jiu Jitsu too. This is a strong Jiu Jitsu oriented family who push each other to grow. I know most people won't know these two personally but for those who don't I hope you can see what I'm talking about through this photo.

Oh we know that guard crusher from pics and videos on STEEMit. Solid.

I have 2 girls in Jiu Jitsu and my brother (who I started training with years ago) has his 2 kids training as well. Competitions are no longer what dad does and it has become a family thing.

It teaches them to become winners about as much as it teaches them how to handle losses. Invaluable.

OSS!

Thanks Zeke. It's always cool to see their family training together. I get to train with him all the time and he's a very valuable training partner. The way they all spend time together and truly enjoy what they're doing is awesome. They definitely are a role model family. I'm glad your family trains with you. If and when I have kids some day even if they don't like Jiu Jitsu I want them to know how to defend their self. He got lucky enough that his wife and son both absolutely love it. I hope I get it like that. Currently I'm try to persuade the girlfriend to start training with me and she seems into the idea!!!

Yah man! It is too bad you don't live in my town as it would be nice to have a world class talent AND there are women's only classes and those tough chicks would get her there for sure.

It is a marathon and not a sprint there as well.

totally agree! I think every kid should learn jiu jitsu, it teaches them to be better human beings, and be humble but strong =)

Wow...:)

@matkodurko Thanks man! I hope you like the photo! I'm constantly learning more about photography. Any specific kinds of Jiu Jitsu photos you would like to see?

Awesome shot!!
The family are very close friends to me and @danaedwards. They are awesome to train with and just be around in general. Unfortunately life gets in the way and am unable to see them more.
The little man does a bang up job. He trains hard and very often. With papa at his side he will do great things.
