I give Natalie Portman a lot of credit for all the hard work she invested into creating her character. My only beef is that the actual dancer, her double, who did most of the dance scenes (I heard they even superimposed Natalie’s face onto her body for some scenes!), did not get credit. It’s like it was supposed to be a big secret?? In an interview with her, she said the producers called her to ask her not do any interviews until after the Oscars. Come on, it’s a movie, illusion, so why try to hide it! Did people really think Natalie could become a prima ballerina in six months?! I thought since Flashdance, dancer doubles were given credit. I really think they should. Why not, they worked on the film too!
