BlackBerry says goodbye to another piece of history: BBM will close its doors on May 31st

The progenitor of current instant messaging services will stop being accessible to consumer users at the end of May 2019.
Every goodbye is accompanied by a veil of sadness and even that at BBM is no exception. The historic BlackBerry messaging service - precisely the BlackBerry Messenger acronym - has a glorious past behind it , so much so that it has long been considered a killer feature of blackberry devices, but it has long since lost its appeal , under the blows of WhatsApp , Telegram and other rampant competitors. And so BlackBerry felt it was time to pull the plug .

Starting next May 31 , the BBM service will no longer be accessible to consumer users , but will continue only for business users (BBM Enterprise), at a cost of $ 2.49 for 6 months (the first year will be free). A story that began in 2005 will therefore close , pushing the last users of the service to migrate to other shores.
