I am no longer running the Global Blacklist API on Steem

in blacklist •  5 years ago

I have shut down the Global Blacklist API on Steem. Apparently the code that accessed it on Steemit.com was coded in such a way it had no graceful failover if a third party resource (my Blacklist API) was unavailable.

As I mentioned in another comment, I had planned to leave it running and maintain it but when Justin Sun voted out all the proposals with Steemit Inc Ninja Mine, I felt it was time to let it go.

I developed, maintained, and hosted the Global Blacklist API for over years and the proposal which was only recently funded after 5 or so months paid out for about two weeks before it was shut down.

I don't see any reason to maintain any Steem related services at this point, especially since 3 years of my content was erased from the front end because I made a single post explaining how to install Hive Keychain.

Sometimes life teaches us lessons toward a new path of thinking and to evolve in a new direction.

One problem with change of power everywhere.

It's getting harder to care what happens to Steem now. It's a shame, but we have a new home now.

Thanks for the Service! Cye on the other side, bzzzzz

Might you be interested in developing a revolutionary governance system on Hive @themarkymark? Not necessarily for the Hive Blockchain governance (although that would be truly amazing), but initially at least for other communities.

Who knows, perhaps Steem might one day adopt a Matrix-8 platform and return to Decentralisation. That would be a turn up for the books!

I in-courage you (and would appreciate very much) if you would take the time to investigate. https://peakd.com/hive-139531/@atma.love/seeking-visionary-developer-s-and-a-hive-community-for-developing-and-testing-matrix-8
