#BlackLivesMatter or #AllLivesMatter?

If you aren't aware of the current events in America with shootings then either you are living under a rock... or you like to block out the bad news and concentrate on happier things. Puppies, perhaps?

With the number of people of color being killed for no reason or for not good enough a reason, the hashtag black lives matter movement appeared. We live in a world where racism still occurs and the only way our voices can be heard is through social media and a trending topic.

Shooting after shooting. Life lost after life lost. Tragedy after tragedy.
You would think people would wake up already and realise that clearly they're is a problem and that it needs to be fixed.

  1. Police brutality.
  2. Gun control.

Police officers are there to protect us and make us feel safe, it is so wrong that a person of color should feel nervous around cops. But recently we also saw the deaths of five police officers shot. Which leads to gun control.

#BlackLivesMatter

The hashtag created to emphasise the fact that people of color are murdered, arrested, brutalised and more because of their skin. This hashtag is rather controversial. See the thing is people tend to invalidate the fact that black lives matter whether it's by accident or on purpose just by using the hash, all lives matter. Right now we need to focus on this issue of police brutality against PoC. The hashtag #AllLivesMatter upsets me to be frank. Yes, of course, no doubt about it! All lives do matter, regardless of skin, sexuality, gender and anything else. But you see, white people are not treated this way because of their skin by police. Yes, all lives do matter but for all lives to matter, black lives need to matter too.

So if you are a user of all lives matter, please rethink using it. You wouldn't run into a a building raising money for charity screaming "Other diseases are important too!". You wouldn't go up to someone in hospital with a broken leg shouting "other injuries are important too!". So why run into a movement trying to save black lives from being lost and say that the people who aren't being killed matter too? Because we know they matter.

I think it's pretty obvious here that everyone's life matters. If you notice, I avoided using the divisive hashtag lines. We should all just drop them both and start working to heal our land.

All Lives Matter

Don't blame groups, blame individuals.

Groups area just weak individuals imo, ie Religion (ISIS), BLM, the USA etc (yes, your country has caused all it's own problems, and ours... please fix that)
