National Power Grid Collapse: What Will You Do WHEN It Fails?

in blackouts •  8 years ago  (edited)

The band, Journey asks, "When the lights go down in the city
And the sun shines on the bay
Do I want to be there in my city?" The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. Get the hell out if the lights go down in your city. Why? Apparently unavailable power makes people go completely INSANE!

Which leads me to ask, "Just how fragile is the National Power Grid and just how prepared will YOU be when it fails?" You can prepare all you want, but when (not if) the lights go out, the riots begin and people start getting crazy, what are your chances of survival???

Just how dependent is the U.S. on single source power?

When you hear about the possible insufficiency, unreliability, or lack of resiliency in the U.S. Power grid, don't you wonder what'll happen when the lights really do go out...for good? The U.S. National power grid is separated into three separate interconnections.
1.) Western Interconnection
2.) Eastern Interconnection
3.) Texas Interconnection

So, it appears that the "authorities" haven't put all their eggs into one basket...and that there are redundancies in place that will keep things from becoming too terribly catastrophic....but that's just NOT the case. I created this video to let people know just how BAD things have gotten in the past without power and how much WORSE things will be in the future should the entire system collapse. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Wow - "The U.S. suffers MORE blackouts than any other developed country in the world?" And knowing this we still haven't fixed the problem? That's just more shameful proof that our gov't doesn't care about our well being at all.
Probably preaching to the choir on your page, but that's part of why I own and keep some Silver nearby - never know when you're going to need to barter for food, water, bullets, etc. Good work Bri!

Thanks Guy! You're smart to own the "poor man's gold." I like the other "precious" metal, as well....lead. ha

I might ask you tell me about lead sometime (or maybe you can just make a video, haha). I saw that you mentioned it on hilarski's article awhile back. I am completely unfamiliar with it from an investing/owning perspective.

Excellent commentary... a topic everyone needs to contemplate right now.

Great episode!
Everyone should invest $800 - $1000 into a small 100-300watt solar panel kit.
Throw in a box of candles and a back up 1k watt Generator for a few hundred and your set to make it through with the bare basics :)
