Coffee thoughts. Oh, and I failed again. But now I can breathe.

Well, now. Good day to you. I am having my coffee and trying to figure out what to do with myself. I didn't post yesterday, I was too busy trying to do other things of importance, one at which I've been working at for weeks and have just really finally failed. I just can't do it. And I suck at following rules sometimes. I get into the wrong mindset...

"This is probably going to fail, but what the hell?"

"I'll give it a shot." That's me. Then I jump onto a pile of nails or something. Ah ha ha. Darn things hurt like a beeyotch. I realize I talk funny. Did you know I'm from Tennessee? It's in the little blurb at the top of my blog, but considering most people just find this blog randomly, and not actually from my steemit page or busy page or whatever.. it occurred to me that most of you probably don't realize it. Yes, yes. I'm a hillbilly of sorts. Raised in the hills, literally.

But they're some pretty hills. Lemme tell ya.

That's a hill where a large apple orchard used to sit. Best apples in the world. Red delicious.. so sweet. Not like the ones you buy in the store. Real ones.

Most of the trees were destroyed one year when an F5 tornado swept through the town. Well, that was not part of town. That was the countryside, near my parents' house where I grew up.

This picture below is just a slightly bit farther down the hill from the orchard. Look at that ground. It's like someone poured sand everywhere into little piles and strips, and then covered it with life. So dreamy.

I'm just having coffee and thinking. I like sharing pictures from my little world here, because so many of you have no idea what it looks like here. Most people in Tennessee have never even heard of my hometown.

I'm not going to say the name of it here, because, honestly.. my steem page is a bit of a secret. It's a private thing for me. I don't mention it anywhere else on the internet except for steem internet pages. I put my real name on DSound sometimes and Musicoin.

I mean it's not like I'm famous but I do have a little cult following of sorts. It's because I had a song in a movie and some other projects and back at the turn of the century I had big dreams of being famous and was signed to a little record label (Lost Cat Records) and they promoted me pretty heavily.

They went out of business promoting weird people like me. Nobody gives a crap about moody acoustic folk singers who don't look like Taylor Swift. No one mainstream anyway.

But I still had the big dreams.

And then I realized after being on stage for awhile that I don't like being on stage. Too scary. I only ever did open mics and a couple of rounds with some other musician friends. But I played at the Bluebird Cafe sometimes, which was a big deal.

If you've ever seen the River Phoenix movie, "The Thing Called Love" where he is a musician in Nashville and it also stars Samantha Mathis, who has big dreams of being a famous country singer, and they play at this little coffee house in the movie all the time.

That's filmed at the Bluebird and is based on the Bluebird and how tough it is to make it in the music business, especially around Nashville, where everyone walks around with stars in their eyes. Everybody's a singer.

This is me there, with my husband (@hornetmusic.. he's now on Steemit, you should follow him! He isn't posting much right now, but will be soon.) Yep, I married a musician. Life gets interesting sometimes.

Anyway, this was about the time I realized I was afraid of being watched by strangers. I look kinda terrified, actually. I never noticed that before.

And a favorite thing for me was that I played at a little place called the French Quarter Cafe, which is one of the coolest places in Nashville, I must say. Louisiana themed bar. Sadly, it has since closed. This was a little round with my friends, Lee Tyler Post and William Henry Prince. Fantastic guys. Brilliant musicians. Brothers to me. I'd love to get them on steemit, but Lee pretty much avoids the internet entirely and Tim is too busy with other life adventures.

I think I'm pretty bored with this post now and I'm gonna go. But I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I'll talk to you later.

Much love,
♥- Serena

I didn't know most of these things. What I did know is that you are from the state of "America at it's best".

Seriously though? You are a hillbilly? HA! I grew up in Texas, as one of the hippies among hill billies. I feel like people don't really understand country culture until they have lived it.

<3 <3 <3 and COOKIES!

Hippie hillbillies unite! Free thinking in a "red" state here..... it's a real thing! Ha ha. Wish I could have grown up with you. We would have had fun and gotten in good amounts of trouble probably. I'm so happy you showed me the way to steemit, Tawasi. It has been such a great thing for me. I never would've had a clue this even existed without you ! <3 <3<3 🤗 hugs! 🍪Cookies! 🦄Unicorns!

I actually put a tsp. of coco powder mixed in my coffee today. just a bit of an experiment. It was ok for something different. very ineresting bio Serena didn't know ur married. do u and your husband still perform together like in the picture? I'd much rather listen to your music than to Taylor swift.

This is a lovely post, and it's rather awesome to see a couple of pictures of you performing live, even if it does freak you out! :-)
I really like the way you write your posts in a stream of consciousness sort of way.

Live performances are a horror for me to many damn people. this is why i decided to just work with people when i feel like it sing on their tracks put my stuff out there and it is all good. Life was so much better this way had i stayed in the business i would probably be dead by now ...
