It took many years to figure out that it's best to put primary focus into one main project or task at a time. Even after eliminating most of my projects and responsibilities, I still have way too many projects, but it's trending in the right direction.
For starters, when I lock into something it's the primary focus, undisturbed by fleeting ideas, social media, sports or news. The coming future of life looks to passionately immerse within a handful of intriguing things. "Do what we love" is surely great advice, even if it takes many years to set things up that way.
Presently in Goa, week four of a three month work-travel stay from India, my seventh visit. I've been reasonably productive, as much as one can be uncharacteristically unable to wake before nine o'clock, and truncated but inspired work days, view of sand and ocean, not wanting for more at all.
I've accomplished a lot - My new book is close to kicking off its weekly Series, and I released my first official music track through my label onto the major streaming services.
So why is this article about procrastination? Because I'm constantly putting off updating this blog. It's one of the many extra projects I maintain, and finding motivation to spread between everything when putting deep focus into few things is the challenge.
Even the most successful and motivated of everybody can procrastinate on certain projects or decisions. We put things off, we make excuses, often useful explanations.
I get sucked into the WordPress trap, too much admin time, settings, SEO tweaking, sharing, templates, images. I just want to write. One day I will build our own little page, blog and store builder, so simple and easy, less nonsense. But I'm procrastinating.
Hence, this almost completely useless article. I could give a rats stuff about Yoast's opinion of this text. This post is about just doing it.
Sometimes we need a little boost, a little practice, put small time aside and we regain momentum again. I'm hoping this article does it. If so, may we bring peace unto the world.
